Fireburst (new off-road action racing game with brilliant graphics)

"In late 2009, the heat will rise on PC and next generation consoles. Black Inc. today announced a perfect way to counterbalance the cold season: Fireburst, a new off-road action racing game, featuring unique innovations. The title is being developed by the game forge exDream, based in Hannover, Germany, and will appear on PLAYSTATION®3, Xbox 360®, and PC. Fireburst is thus the first title released to Sony's next generation console by the publisher from Cologne.

Fireburst sends players into a fiery, four-wheeled adrenalin frenzy. Behind the wheel of numerous different racers, drivers get to speed along paved race courses or wicked off-road tracks, showing no respect for their rivals. Thanks to a novel boost system, opponents are kept at a distance in spectacular ways in various single and multiplayer modes. The element of fire prominently features in all special maneuvers. It is possible, for example, to coat your own vehicle in protective flames, or make a rival's car explode with a burst of fire.

Fireburst also offers brilliant graphics: In order to bring glorious effects and breathtaking landscapes to the screen, exDream's developers base their graphics on Unreal Engine 3. Many dynamic objects and impressive light effects on vehicles and tracks make for fantastic top-level, high-speed racing action.

Note

The first replies in this thread will be confusing because they comment on the screens released by this site: http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Fi...r-For-PS3-Xbox-360-And-PC-18076.html?tid=8056
Those screenshots are obviously not of Fireburst, but an old Autobahn game.

Our apologies to exDream. ;)

.

So uhhhh... how much were those guys paid to say that this looks good?

The only thing missing here is a car vault...

Looks good and it looks like the cars can roll, something PD still hasn't been able to do.

Edit. And what an amazing way to do shadows.

I'm reading this PR and it seems like the developers thought Burnout was missing the ability to kill your rivals in a fiery crash.

A racing game built with UE3.... You don't even need to see the actual screen shots to know this game is an instant fail... :lol

So this is the spiritual successor to

Well, the point of Racing Game is to give amateur gamemakers a base PC/360 XNA game template that they can modify. It's intentionally generic in order to be a blank canvas.

edit: I did think the shots in the OP looked suspiciously like Autobahn Raser or one of those awful Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei games. :D

The ones in from the OP are from the 360 version :lol

Pretty sure those screens in the OP are from either the fourth or fifth iteration of the Alarm für Cobra 11 series (back from 2004/2005).

The Fireburst screens do look pretty good.

Okay, these are better.

What the hell was up with those old screens?

the screens in the op are from some old "alarm für cobra 11" game. same publisher, different developer and ages old.

EDIT: beaten

The situation was already clarified: OP pics are from an older Alarm für Cobra 11 game (either the one from 2004 or 2005, I can't tell), while ram posted the actual screens of the Fireburst game, which the comments in the OP were (obviously) based on.

:)

edit: and exdream is not the dev of the Alarm für Cobra 11 games, no. Why Goldrusher hasn't updated the OP yet is a mystery, though. :lol

Are these the same guys that do Alarm for Cobra 11? looks like exactly the same models and tech.
The pics in the OP are wrong, they looked like Crash Time to me but it turns out the game is older than that.

The Motorstorm only in UE3 looking pics are the correct ones, and it doesn't look bad, actually. Certainly worth trying a demo of the PC version if such a thing gets released.

For me its looking better than Pacific Rift and thats really achievement for Unreal Engine 3.

Juniors can't. Well, at least he posted some new info instead of asking for it.
