Firefox help! HELP!!!! *_*

So I was playing around with firefox today. Installing new themes, extensions etc.. and now I have an extremely annoying problem. My tab browsing is Fuxxed! If I open a new tab and try to go to a website, it either doesn't go anywhere or says it cant load "www..com"!!!!??!!

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program and still no good. Except now it's even worse! Now, even if I don't open a tab and try to go to another website, it'll just load my homepage again! If I open another tab it will do the same thing I mentioned in the first paragraph. Bookmarks seem to work fine but thats about it.

So I ask of you GA, HELP!!!!

Time to clean out that registry if a reinstall didn't fix it. I assume you rebooted after the uninstall/install.

Yeah, I did. =_(
Somehow, I knew this would be the answer. Just wish I knew what screwed it up so bad..

Rule of thumb.

Don't go ape sh!t with installs (be it programs, extensions etc). One at a time to ensure they work as advertised and pose no conflicts with existing hardware/software.

My guess would be a sloppily coded theme.

I just installed Firefox for the first time and I'm getting "the connection was refused when attempting to contact start.mozilla.org" or any other sites. I haven't been able to get online at all. Any ideas?

No.

I have actually gotten it to work fine for a few moments after windows starts up, but after a few seconds, it fails.

I saw some mention that Firefox and Norton do not get along well, and I do have Anti-Virus installed. Perhaps it is an issue with that, but I have been fiddling with it for a while and gotten nowhere. I turned off auto-protect and that has not helped.

Internet Explorer works fine (that is how I'm posting this).

Woo! Creating a new profile worked perfectly! I'm thinking a crappy theme screwed everything up. Anyway, thanks all for your help! :D
