4.7 perfect screen size generation starts when Apple says so.

I love all those "best smartphone" claims in the reviews. Probably true if you're attached to the iOS ecosystem, very arguable otherwise.

Obviously, yes.

And has anyone actually said "best smartphone," or are you just interpreting the "best iPhone yet" statements as such?

Somewhat related but one of my friends has been on an anti-Apple tirade for the past week ever since the iPhone 6 was announced. Like, everything Samsung marketing puts out is immediately shared with a "this why I like samsung, they are the best" type comment attached to it. It's kind of funny to watch because no one ever responds to him.

He must really be down the rabbit hole, because those Samsung ads are cringe worthy.

I like them, and I wouldn't buy a Samsung phone because of all the bloatware. Apple deserves the karma for some of the BS they put in the "I'm a mac, and I'm a pc" ads back then.

I found it hilarious that the mashable review was so vehement against a 5.5 iPhone but then I saw their 4.7 iphone review where one con is "it might be too big for some". I am like...now i get it...

The joke, as Mad Men fans know, is that Don was in fact thinking about Ginsberg and was scared of his own work not being able to compete.

Phones are going to replace Christianity and Islam as the dominant religions in 10 more years.

The first phone crusades are going to be bloody.

I finally deleted someone like that. How does one get so emotionally invested in a fucking phone? He would write a whole essay on why Apple is so terrible every time they'd announce something new.

I'm a PC owner and would probably never buy a Mac but those ads were actually funny. The Samsung ads are just stupid and attack people directly who buy iPhones. At least the Mac vs PC ads were a little more subtle about it.

If I were to go back to Apple, can I dump my huge music library onto it nowadays (like with my Note 2) without having to be formated for iTunes? Like just get around iTunes entirely. I'd sooner install a VIRUS on my PC than allow that program near it again!
Most seamless option needs iTunes ONCE. $25 per year gets you iTunes Match access. With that you import your songs to iTunes and they are put into iCloud. It will match what it can and upload what it doesn't match. After that you don't need iTunes again.

If Ginsberg is
some
Android fans, I guess that makes tech site reviews the IBM 360 in the office.

I have an iPad 3, I could easily switch from my Nexus 5 to an iPhone. I really don't care what phone someone uses, I just don't like the corrupt "journalists" that suck Apple's cock, that's all.

Or maybe the phone is actually as good as they say it is? How would you know without trying it?

To me anyone that discounts multiple reviews with no firsthand experience of something sounds crazy.

My God, I need this now. Amazing reviews. Its funny how angry some people are at these glowing reviews. Yes, there MUST be cocks and sucking involved. Apple surely cant make an excellent phone. Nope.

Ugh if only the regular 6 had the two column mail and messages..it would be perfect.

I see tech journos sucking Apple cock all the time down at this train station in Philly.

Fucking amazing lmao

Are there any examples of the 6 Plus' optical image stabilization? Perhaps a video filmed with both a 6 and 6+ I want to know what I'm going to be missing out on.

So happy with my decision to pre-order a white 128gb Plus right now :D

My issue is that don't feel like a review but rather an impression. There is no depth.

The sites getting these reviews ahead of others are site geared towards the mass consumer. That's why they're not spec heavy and focused on gamma readings of displays. They're written for the mass consumer.

That is a huge issue, it is like Apple gave them a pamphlet and they just handed that in as their review. I feel like cellphone reviews are some of the worst of any industry.

Well it is better, since it's 1080P. Contrast is really a matter of taste, some people like a lot, some don't. What kind of display is it anyway LED?
Resolution/density/size doesn't make the display better, it simply makes it higher res.

And both sports great IPS panels, with the 6 getting one with contrast ratio that trumps the plus.

I knew The Verge's review was going to be along the lines of "Apple made me realize how a bigger phone is a good thing".

What? He said right in the review that Apple is playing catch-up.

The Verge review is fairly unimpressed. I think Android fans just had their "lol verge sucks cocks" posts ready to go before watching it.

And what will ram do for you in terms of advantage if end performance is the same ?

I suppose since iOS doesn't have real multitasking maybe not much but it's hard to say until further in the iPhone 6+'s life.

It was a ticking point for me among other things and it makes my choice much more obvious.

Hopefully iPhone 7 is closer to what I am looking for.

Also FYI no reason for you all to attack me about not wanting iOS/iPhones in the first place seeing as I used to use iOS and wish I still did. Other phones currently just do more of what I want/expect out of a phone and it's as simple as that.

How is that an issue? Being selective isn't a bad thing. It ensures you're products are being reviewed by outlets you trust, have a good relationship with and know their readership reaches a broad audience.

The consumer tech industry is not some place made up of every handing money under the table. I'm sure there are some places out there that look for the deals, but it's not every major outlet.

What reviews are you looking at? So far they all say "it's a big iphone. fine i guess."

Furthermore if the phone performs well then numbers don't matter.

Funny post as I am sure the Note 4 will lag like a mother, just as all Samsung mobile devices do, despite 3GB of RAM

I've had a Galaxy S3 (the only Samsung device I've ever owned) and it runs as fast as the day I bought it which is pretty damn fast.

The Note 3 already was a really well performing phablet and doesn't "lag."

Buying a phone based on the amount of RAM even though according to all reviews it's a non-issue?

...

I don't think RAM is that huge an issue in this case but trusting tech reviewers on this is quite foolish. Go read all the iPad 1 reviews you can find and see how many of them mention lack of RAM as a negative.

That was obviously and by far the worst issue with the iPad 1 and yet it hardly got mentioned.

Over the years, I've come to the conclusion that tech "journalists" are just as useless as their videogames counterpart. They're all just PR mouthpieces at the end of the day.

Guys who cares that Android phones have had all these features and bigger screens for years.

Apple perfected them.

Seriously though, who cares? It really doesn't matter to a current buyer when a feature was first invented. That metric is only useful for fanboy wars.

I keep seeing people saying "OH NOW THEY LOVE LARGE PHONES" but every single review I read pointed out that the 6 Plus is unwieldy to use. Just like they did with every single larger Android phone.

I think people just put on the blinders and go into instant-rage mode with reviews. They're friggin phones.
