First Look at The Witcher 4 Tech Demo

Looks awesome and I love TW 2 and 3, I will definitely buy it... But...

why you always lying noragami aragoto GIF

A nearly 30-minute video dissecting differences between the reveal and release versions of The Witcher 3... What a sad life

Man, I can't believe they fixed the face. We, gaf, should take full credit for that. Our inquisitorious on youtube simply followed our lead. The world is healing.

I have no doubts it's gonna be amazing, but will it look like this on base consoles at 60fps? Isn't UE5 known for framerate issues and what not? We'll see.

The wait is gonna be hell though.

Kinda weird of them to emphasize this running at 60fps on base PS5 (which is a ridiculous claim on its own) while the stream itself is 30fps. Like, you're bragging about 60fps in a tech demo, yet not showing the receipts... I will be not surprised whatsoever if those 60fps are in reality just 30 with framegen, even on PS5 Pro.

Cool Witcher stuff, but I want to know is Epic saying anything about improving traversal/shader comp stuttering? All these new cool features of the engine mean nothing if they arent fixing the broken shit.

They doubled the perf for lumen.

If we remember way back with the first UE5 tech demos it was running like 1440p 30fps. So yeah it seems doable.

Yikes the graphics looks like a true next gen game it was insane.

Still one really have to be careful when it comes to tech demos like what happened to Cyberpunk.

Bro, I want to believe but I'm definitely keeping my expectations in check. A game looking like this, with so many characters at one point too and at 60fps on base consoles? Nah.

But if they do achieve it, let's fucking go.

Reminder... ac shadows looks like that without shitty UE5. no lod changes visible here at all.
Voxel trees sound like a waste of resources. video looks low res (but it's not even ps5 pro footage)

It's last chance for ue5 to impress me. It needs to look AT LEAST better than ac shadows on pro

I just hope if they have path tracing that I can handle it on a 4090. I didn't upgrade to the 5090.

I've been concerned of moving from Red Engine to UE5, but so far this looks promising.
I hope it has path tracing also but I don't see why a 4090 wouldn't be able to handle it, especially with DLSS.

For me, I've noticed that it's generally very similar when a console game looks extremely good and is also on PC.
No, the PC version will have more features to enhance everything, like I doubt it will be a native 4k at 60 FPS on console even with the PS5 pro plus on PC you can use mods to further improve things.
