From IGN.

April 18, 2005 - EA Sports announced today that they will finally unveil a first look at Madden NFL football for the next-gen systems in a commercial airing this Saturday during the NFL Draft. No specific time was given, other than stating that the commercial will appear during the first hour of the draft (starting at 12PM EST) on ESPN.

"We have had a dedicated team working on next generation Madden NFL football and we cannot wait for Madden fans to get a sneak peek at the experience that awaits them," said Frank Gibeau, Senior Vice President of North American Marketing for Electronic Arts. "An innovative and unparalleled NFL football experience is what we've promised; and that is what we are going to deliver."

The 60 second ad will only air once during the broadcast, but promises to deliver "the photo-realistic graphics and heart-pounding football intensity that is the essence
of the EA Sports; branded next generation Madden NFL football game, and representative of what game players everywhere will be able to play when the next generation of videogame consoles come to market."

Tune in to ESPN this Saturday to watch, not only the future of the NFL, but now, the future of NFL videogames.

Can't tell much from that shot, but from what I can see it's in line with what I was expecting (especially after seeing those EA next-gen concept screens a little while back).

I would prefer some gameplay shots. Not cutscene/replay shots. But it does show the detail per player I guess.

But that means I will NOT be going to the Texans draft party. I need to see that commercial.

Photorealistic? Who are they kidding?

We've seen character models like that this gen.

But I guess it's impressive if they can get a full field of characters with that detail.

So EA markets Madden 2K6 with those crappy PS2 shots (see another thread) and beatiful 360 ones. Microsoft marketing guys are geniuses.

Hmm.

Will Madden 2006 come out for PS3? If so it could be an indication of an earlier than expected US launch (before Summer 2006).

Both of the Madden shots shown so far are in the snow. Are they trying to make it look like the Michael Vick "Gamebreakers" commercial?

All next gen EA games will probably come out on Xbox 360 first and then will be ported to PS3, whenever it comes out.

Probably trying to show off their new particle system.

:lol

There's definitely a leap there, though the lameness of current-gen Maddens is as much to blame.

hot damn... it's going to be hard to resist getting an x360 this christmas. I hope MS steals nintendos idea of having VGA support out of the box. I have a gaggle of CRTs but have yet to bite the bullet on a HDTV yet.

Holy shit!

And whoever said we've seen that kinda detail this gen, wtf?! :lol The damn "Riddell" strap thing even looks like it's got as much detail as everything else, amazing, can't wait to see the commercial.

Damn, this gen's madden really is ugly... cant wait for the commercial.

I'd say that's an ingame shot considering the poly perimeter on the helmet and the texture mapped screw detail.

Now about the bluring ash/snow droplets... I wonder if that's ingame. For the camera to focus on the face like that... I'd say its a) cinema b) photoshopped. We'll see. Someone torrent this clip when its out

you guys are easily fooled. It looks like they took a character model from fight night round 2. added some lighting and released the dev kit shot.

Ok, I hate sports games (except Virtua Tennis) and the initial promo shot looked completely faked. Now if this new shot is an actual in-game pic, that is fucking awesome. I still won't buy it, never liked Madden, but if EA can crank out those graphics, holy-flying-kittens I can't wait to see what Mistwalker and Game Republic will be doing for the X360! :D

Yeah. One is an actual screen, one is a concept screen.

Well, we don't really know how close that concept is to the finished product, but this:

shows that we can still expect Madden players to have the glazed-over look of zombies next-gen. :lol

Will Madden 2006 come out for PS3?
Well they do say next gen consoles in that announcement.

What i wonder if the clip show will be again some pre-rendered promo or an actual in-engine footage (at least that pic with two players was confirmed as a pre-render from EA)

Well you gotta 60 second commercial headed your way.

Seriously,a guy working on the game has already said on this board that he thinks the final product will look better than that render, why are some of you still doubting these graphics?

very impressed by this pic. the guy who worked for ea says he forsees it surpassing the original render so if it does anything close to this xbox 360 will have a huge advantage out of the gate especially if this is a launch title
