Frank Azor, one of the guys behind GPUs segment in AMD, just posted this on X:

This is kinda weird IMO, like they couldn't didn't have a proper plan in place for this or the ones they had had to be moved without a proper date.

I wonder if the updates will be on consoles too.

lmao 2 games with like 50 players

rofif rofif it's time for a 2nd Forspoken run

Definitely forspoken since that's what they showed the most and they also said:
gamers using AMD Radeon™ RX 7000 Series graphics cards can optionally switch on and combine the benefits of our new driver-based AMD Radeon™ Anti-Lag+ technology (part of an upcoming update to the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition™ application) to further lower latency in supported games, which will include FSR 3 games like Forspoken, when frame generation is used.

However their slide with upcoming games also showed Cyberpunk, so the second game could be that instead of immortals of aveum.

FSR3 will be compute heavy and probably take VRAM usage up so maybe not exactly good for 6GB card.

Sshhhh, let them think it's AMD™ magic.

Optical flow SDK has been on Turing/Ampere/Ada for a long time. There's a reason why it was not implemented in games until hardware support for Ada. Those cards are way slower.

Let's see the quality of AMD's solution first.

Devs anxiously waiting for the results to see if they can use it to render console games at even lower resolutions.

Upscaled 480p here we come!!!

Hey, it's about fucking time. Hope it turns out well.

But of all the damn games to launch with. I'm not buying that crap just to test it out. Cyberpunk will be my first test.

Really interested in this , I'd instantly buy Aveum if it was supported on something like the PS5? or steam deck , any official word on that being possible?

AMD has stated that their Radeon RX 5000 series (RDNA 1) and Nvidia's GeForce RTX 20 (Turing) series will support FSR 3 and that they recommend using the feature with Radeon RX 6000 series (RDNA 2) and RTX 30 (Ampere) series GPUs. Older GPUs will support FSR 3's upscaling component, but may not run well with FSR 3's Frame Generation component."

I would buy forespoken on sale just to see FSR3 in action. I knew I'd end up with that crappy game someday.

Question for 40 series owners. I think all this time I had assumed frame gen could fill in frames from say 55 up to 60. But the thing is, I only ever hear it talked about in terms of doubling. 30 to 60, 60 to 120, etc. Which is it?

I don't think it's a strict doubling, watch both Cyberpunk sections.Pretty impressive for an old CPU, don't know how it feels to play though.

Don't have the game but everything I've seen seems to indicate that Forspoken has the shittiest implementation of FSR 2.X in any game released even at 4K quality, so having it as the proof of concept for FSR 3 seems like a really bad idea.

What does that mean in english? Yes on ps5 no ps5?

U can use it at whatever framerate to get to whatever framerate. for example cyberpunk here sits at demanding area's at 48 fps, and with framegen it goes to 85+.

Probably the best gains, so they want the reviewers to go off from that first.
