Got up at 4:45 am today to my son needing to eat. Fed him and then the cat.

After eating, my son had his morning BM but unfortunately they don't stay contained within his pull-ups these days so a BM means a change of clothes and often bedding too. After cleaning him up I gave him his morning meds and fed him again.

After all that I gulped down my cold coffee and ran 2 miles, did a couple pull-ups myself, hit the shower and then tidied up around the house until my wife got home from her shift. Now I am at work and settling in at 10 am.

This week of eating healthy and exercising has been great at relieveing a lot of pent up stress and I can see that lethargy and eating my emotions are a deadly combo. I'm channeling the spirit of Colonel John Matrix to remind myself that everything I do is for my family and protecting them is the only reason to live.

Morning GAF!

godspeed ninja, you are a legend on the battlefield

i'm still pretty fucking stiff, not enough to put off calisthenics

gonna go slow and do a couple sets

Did some deadlifting yesterday and feel this immense burning sensation around my abdomen. It almost feels swollen. Don't recall it being this intense before when I used to work out.

That said, tfw your waist is getting visibly slimmer.

The first thing I thought of reading this was a hernia in your abdomen. Hopefully it isn't feeling swollen or burning anymore?

I don't feel it anymore. It did feel intense though. I did squats 2 days after without much hassle. Might've just been an issue of recovery.

I wasn't even aware you could get a hernia on the abdomen.

Yep, your intestines can pop right through your abdominal wall between the seams so to speak. I've never had it but have heard from others who have and it sounds terrible! I'm glad to hear you're feeling better.

My fitness goal today is to finally destroy this "barely any sleep" cycle once and for all.

People of GAF, give me your energy!

Forecast predicts the temp will drop down to single digits tonight (or about -13C). Winter is freebie fat-burning.

I am going to get back into weights instead of just bodyweight exercises. I can feel my skin loosening and my muscles wasting away in my arms especially.

so i'm taking a break from fasting business after doing it pretty rigorously for the last year

hunger pangs are way up since i'm back on 3 to 6 well portioned meals / day

the hunger is real

diet right now is basically chicken, eggs, brown rice, broccoli, potato bread toast with natural sugar strawberry jam, and absurd amounts of water

cheat meal is one tiny can of delicious coca cola at the end of the week (that shit is like a dream when you haven't had it in a while)

girl has the same diet as me except she chugs a few bottles of dark chocolate boost for dat thicc asset maintenance

also fuck hot yoga, i fucking hate it but i'm forced into it every thursday because i hate my life

I finally have no shot to do after my japan trip and can hit the gym at least 5 times a week again and get back into (better) shape.

time to get into muscle ups human flag and all this shit.

The biggest problem I have is fucking being consistent in my eating habits. Sometimes (often) I'm too lazy to cook my fucking meals and just go eat somewhere outside. So all the work I'm putting into exercising fucks me. Either I'm going extreme and eating basically next to nothing and there are times I'm eating like a fucking pig. I'm 180cm and ~80kg that's okay imho. Though for being shredded I have to change all this meal shit. I'd love to eat clean for the rest of my life. But I love sweet ahit and need it from time to time. It's bugging me ;-;

Your priorities are your priorities. If you care about enjoying life more than being shredded, and you're still fit, there's nothing to be frustrated with yourself about, yeah?

I feel you God. I'm an emotional eater and when I am not exercising I channel that energy into stuffing my face. Exercising actually works as an appetite suppressant for me in a major way so when I don't exercise my diet spirals out of control too.

What I would suggest is to not completely cut out the things that are bad in your diet but limit them instead. Calorie counting to learn the right balance for your diet while not packing on the fat might be good practice for a week or two.

Has anyone been using Ring Fit Adventures to supplement, replace, or begin their workouts? I was tempted by Wii Fit when it first came out and this game seems like the concept fully realized.

Happy Saturday fitGAF!! Pushed my distance up to 2.75 miles. When I was running regularly 3 was usually my minimum and now it's tough to even get there. I'm just grateful to be getting out there with everything going on this year.

Get it fellas!! I hope everyone pisses some blood today.

Go Ducks!!

God damn it I always regret it after a night of drinking. I feel like shit in the morning and my GF gets pissed because I can never bust my nut. She thinks it's her fault, but I try to tell her it's the booze. Gonna lay off the sauce until Christmas or New Years I think.

Gonna work this shit off on the treadmill and destroy my chest and back.

Just got back from an 8 mile run, caught a break in the weather.

Already making plans for next Spring though, gonna try to be working up to marathon distances in 2020.

9 am rise, later than i'd like

coffee brewed, staring down the abyss of endless code

tryna get push ups and pull ups in when i can, and my rowing machine is busted again (off to amazon!)

You a dev, bro? I didn't know that.

Thinking of upping my cardio game today. Gonna go for a 3.5 mile run on the treadmill.

Yeah I got my BS in computer science, but I ended up following the IT path more than the coding one. I kinda which I stuck to coding because even though I make a pretty good living now if I ever lost my job it would be a lot harder to find something that pays what I'm making now. If you're a good coder finding work is easy.

I have to change my priorities then. or at least find a middleground.

Yesterday I did weighted pull ups and tried 20kg for the first time. Did one Rep before laddering in 5kg steps to twenty.. Started without weights 8reps, 10 with 2.5kg, 8 with 5kg, 7 (or 6??) with 10kg, 4 with 15 kg and then tried it with twenty. My goal was 2 :( Did one.. It was okay, I think :)

nothing says i hate my life like a 4:40 AM rise

coffee brewing, slugging around like i got weighted clothing on

soon tho, da elliptical will be crushed

IDK if Tesseract Tesseract gets up early on purpose, or if he has trouble sleeping, but I've been having sleep issues lately as well. Can't seem to get more than 5 and a half a night. I'm on 2nd shift now, but I was on night shift for over 2 years and I think that permanently fucked my sleep. Before I was on nights I slept a perfect 8 hours every night, now if I can get 6 and a half I'm thrilled.

You'd think being in shape would help with your sleep, but it really hasn't in my case. I just look a lot better and want to fuck all the time.

Haven't run for a week but knocked out a quick set of squats, pushups, crunches, flutter kicks, plank and side planks. Then pushed and got my 3 miles in. Happy Saturday all!

I listened to the Death Stranding soundtrack on my win and it was so soothing and relaxing. That game got its hooks in me deep and the travel in the game reminds me of running. Running is grounding for me and connects me with the world.

Having some profound insights about my life today enduring the most difficult times of my life. Thankfully we have some light ahead as we have a new home for our son to try out. It is designed to be able to deal with his combination of behavioral issues and medical fragility. We really need this.

Thank you guys for letting me vent a little about personal shit in my posts. It's all so interconnected in my life. ❤️👊💪🏃🏼‍♂️

pretty stiff bruddas and sistas, steaming piping bath and maximum relaxation today

good fitness isn't just about the up time, gotta let your body heal

had an awesome day bouldering, my fingers hurt and my grip strength kinda sucks. I think I would be a better climber if I shred like 4-5kg back to 75.
And I love to go climbing but if you do it only once in a month you don't see a lot of progress to be honest. :/

Looking to get a little stronger on bench. Other than eating a crap ton of food is there any truth that low reps + high weight = strength. I usually just do 8-12 reps to failure which has built pretty decent muscle size (for my frame at least), but I'm not that strong.

I can basically bench my bodyweight (160 pounds) 8-10 times. Maybe do 165-170 pounds for 3-4 reps?
