Did you get a lot of weird looks? I know I'd be red as a tomato.
Luckily I was in the corner of the room and it was late so there weren't many people there. The guy next to me spotted me for the first set lol.

Mully, take a look at Layne Norton Training or maybe even Lyle McDonald bulking program from the OP. They both seem to have more volume than the strength training programs, might be more up your alley

Like MJFrancis said you're far removed from being a beginner, if you want to continue to see gains, you're going to need a more solid program than what you're currently doing.

Regardless which program you choose, your numbers are all quite good, taking a step back in the intensity will have them skyrocket.

Keep us posted, Mully. Let us know what intermediate program fits your bill. And always consider that your best gains will come after you cease your fat loss - gaining strength on a caloric deficit is even more difficult, though far from impossible.

Ok so I am back in the gym after three months off (pulled my hammy and strained my MCL). So I will be posting in here more often. Since I couldn't even lift anything my deadlift and squat has gone down a lot.:( I'll work back up though. I've taking it slow this last week.

Weird question. WTF is HGC? It seems like a very popular over the counter drug of choice. A bunch of dudes I know take it and I have no clue what it does? Is it a scaled down version of HGH?

Will do. I'm definitely taking tomorrow off and just doing cardio. Friday and Saturday I will most likely take off to, and try to read up on some routines.

Are you referring to hCG?

If you are talking about UltraLab Nutrition Human Growth Complex then that product is a self-described homeopathic remedy and I'm skeptical enough to call it snake oil before I even know what's in it. Homeopathy is bullshit.

So wiki tells me those x's mean the dilution ratio, so that first thing is 1/1,000,000,000,000 somatotrophine. Probably more growth hormone in tap water.

Your acquaintances might actually be better off with the hCG, lol. Tell them to look up homeopathy and save 'em a few bucks. Unless you don't like them, of course.

Buying anything homeopathy is literally buying a watered-down product and believing it does anything. /mindfuck

I think a lot of people just don't know what the word means. They think it means "natural" or "home remedy." Not that other medicines don't have a lot of placebo effect working for them also, but at least they actually have active ingredients in them. The idea behind homeopathy is literally magical thinking -- that by having contact with certain things, the water takes on those properties and then passes them into your body. It's pure bs.

I asked him why he just doesn't do HGH. It not like we don't know people that can easily get him some.

Yup.

My standing OHP sucks. I can only do 135 for 3.

That's not terrible. I see guys doing way less and making loud fucking stupid noises when they do it.

Did you keep your spine neutral the whole time? Hopefully it is just a muscle. If it continues to hurt or interferes with your normal activities or you get any weakness, tingling or pain outside of that area, you probably want to see a doctor. Otherwise, I'd ice it and rest for a few days.

Can't say without an mri, but if you just worked out today you'd likely have weakness from having just worked out. I'd see in the next few days. Could just be an irritation in the soft tissues. How often do you do those?

There's a lot of guys who use the suicide grip for some reason.

Also, bonus points for the cowboy and paully D in the background.

That one wasn't even painful to watch.

I have a very particular and probably trivial diet question:

My daily snack consists of a protein bar and a serving cashews, and I'm thinking of substituting the latter for a banana because they taste better, contain less calories, and are more filling. But the banana also contains more carbohydrates and sugar. Does it matter?

If it helps to know, I'm currently cutting while doing SS.

I winced.

I did so on both of them, but moreso with the video AlienShogun posted since I'd never seen that one before.

Ouch.
And he had three spotters that failed to catch the bar.

When I would go to the gym in the morning I would see a guy bounce 205 off his chest and I swear by his last rep I thought he would drop it. Fucking gross.

There's a guy that tried to recruit me to bench with him (even though I'm way stronger than him) and that's how he does reps. Every one he bounces off his fucking chest like it's legit.

bouncing off chest? what is that?
on your way down, making the bar tap your chest and then immediately pushing the bar up again. it kinda helps with keeping the momentum of the reps.

Or in the case of what we are talking about not just tapping it, but letting it hit hard enough to act like a trampoline.

Kind of like bouncing your reps on a dead lift.

Tomorrow's snack hangs in the balance! Help!
