So would this be why I may be close to plateu'ing, just not eating enough to support what I'm doing?
probably

151 tips...Stay away from smith machines.
tip #40 mocks me.
Those are perfect. I use them to guard my precious shin skin during deadlifts. They are just thick enough to prevent the bar from scraping away flesh, but thin so they don't get in the way.Like I said, I have small feet for my height. In order for me to have the bar do a straight line it needs to put a lot of pressure on my shins. I have been using bad form by keeping the bar super close but not touching the shins, but the weight is more over my toes than I should be doing this. While I haven't hurt anything or feel any pain, I can tell the leverage is bad and I could do more weight if it touched my shins.
Think I might try these though: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003IZ8HW2/?tag=neogaf0e-20

and with yet another PR set today, and a third cycle of 5/3/1 complete, I am taking a full, total week off. my cns is burned the hell out.
I was just thinking about this earlier today.....how do you know if you're experiencing CNS burnout and need to take a break, or if you're just regular ol' pooped?
Anyone think using an electric razor won't cause pimples when shaving whatever little chest hair I have compared to straight up razor? I'm breaking out.

May try that.

Just remember folks-
If you eat big, you have to poop big
Feels good though
Nice article. Awful pictures.
When i get sick, i stop being sick and be awesome instead. True story.Goddammit Fitness-age, I'm still sick with hay fever. My throat is sore as fuck and hurts.
I want to jog and exercise so bad but I can't. does not feel good man. the urge to eat comfort food doesn't help either.
I've never had them but you might want to look up shin splints and see if it matches what you're feeling. As far as your knee goes just don't go pushing it crazy. Learn your limits with it. Only you can know how much it's healed.Hey fitness-gaf I've got a few questions.
I'm a relatively out-of-shape dude with an office job. About a month ago I started two "programs" which are pretty much just an excuse to get off my ass and do stuff with my body.
They are these:

http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml
I'm on week 3 of hundred pushups and that's going well, I may have to repeat a few days until I can finish the set I'm working on (week 3 day 2 is killing me)
But I'm on week 5 of couch to 5k and I'm having some actual pain that doesn't seem normal or healthy. Up until this point, running has been tough, but most of the toughness has been exhaustion. Now, I just finished week 5 day 2 (walk 5 mins, run 8 mins, walk 5 mins, run 8 mins, walk 5 mins) and about 3-4 minutes in to each running session my right leg (shin specifically) starts to burn badly. By the time I had finished the second running session, it burned so bad I almost had to sit down. My left leg was fine, but my right leg from the knee down was basically just meat I had to drag up with my thigh.
Am I running awkwardly and putting more pressure on that leg? Is this normal 'growing pain' type stuff? Just wanna get some input from some people with more experience. Also, a friend of mine told me I should eat a protein bar after every time I exercise. Is this good advice?
Any input is appreciated! Thanks in advance.
edit: Also I should mention: I tore my ACL in my right knee when I was about 10. I had problems with it throughout middleschool when I played sports, but had a brace. For the past 6 or 7 years I haven't really been physical at all with my leg, and I just kinda figured it'd have healed in that time. Something to be concerned about?
Meh, over-exerted myself this morning on lunges and dry heaved in the bathroom. Got bad cold sweats and a bad headache so I ended my workout there. The worst part was I thought I was going to make it until I got to the bathroom and there was a bucket/mop with bleach water and that pushed me over the edge.
Guess an apple wasn't enough for breakfast. Luckily it was at the tail end of my workout so I got everything else in.
Been trying to cut down on wheat/gluten/refined sugars.
Congrats on being a man.
Are you indicating this is a normal occurrence for you?
it is for me! After my Squat circuit this week, I couldn't get off the floor for 10 minutes and almost puked. It's been SOP for me for years when I do heavy circuits to be out of commission for at least 10-20 minutes post work out.
Anyone ever have their skin breakout from working out/dieting?
I've been working out pretty seriously for about a year, I lost around 50lbs, about 9% body fat, and have just generally greatly increased my muscular and cardio fitness level. About 3 weeks ago I went on a week long business trip where I decided to step it up notch. So basically I did the equivalent of my "hard" workout everyday that week and reduced my diet to protein (tuna, and chicken), wheat, leafy greens, and nonfat milk or water.
So about halfway through that week I noticed like a couple largish red blotches on my skin around my midsection... which over the next 2 or 3 days turned into a full blown rash over almost my entire upper body.
So now, about 3 weeks later the blotches have kind of turned into smallish "bumps?" I guess... It doesn't itch, it doesn't hurt, it's worse after I've been working out and better for about an hour or so after showering... I've tried Neosporin body wash for dry skin and eczema, and some other herbal type remedies.... I'm considering making a doctors appointment now (like no duh right?) but I'd like to avoid getting antibiotics or a steroid that I know they are going to give me... I'm not against the doctor... I just don't want to pay the co-pay when I know it's just gonna be like a "well take these drugs are going to speed up the process but all we can really do is wait".
Anyway, my question is just: Is this normal? Do you think it's from furiously working out and dieting for that week? (Maybe it jacked up my hormones? or maybe like mercury in the tuna or something?) Is the doctor visit actually gonna be worth the 100 bucks or so it will cost me? Should I just eat the co-pay to make sure I don't have like some flesh eating bacteria or something? Really just any general advice would be awesome.
Also, here's a picture... not sure if you can really see it, but it's just like those small bumps all over my body besides my face and legs really. This was taken during the after shower "better" phase... so it gets a little worse then that... like more reddish and more looking like dry skin.
75) Stop calling yourself a hardgainer. Focus on getting your bench press to 300, squat to 400 and deadlift to 500. Once there, look in the mirror and see if you're still a "hardgainer
Do you eat anything pre-workout? Mornings/afternoons?

Looked these up and they seem to be exactly what I'm experiencing. Is it something worth worrying over / go to the doctor about?
