I'm from the UK I don't think we have JIF here ...

What's real peanut butter?

Look for a natural peanut butter, where the ingredients list is just peanuts (and salt if you like it salty). You will see the oil separated and sitting at the top of the jar, use a knife to mix it in and put the jar in the refrigerator.

Anyone here ever tried Tren? Heard that shit is crazzzzzzyyyy.
It's solid stuff, similar to winstrol, depending on your diet. I took it for a cycle a few years ago, when it was easier to get. As with any oral anabolic, it'll be hell on liver. You can take milk thistle to help mediate the damage, but it's still putting a band aid on a bullet wound. Avoid alcohol and NSAIDs while you’re on it.

Get a decent PCT if you take the plunge.

Most "sugary" peanut butters are brands that also use partially hydrogenated oils (the trans-fatty acids that you don't want). But if you find a natural peanut butter that's sugary and the sugar fits into your diet, go nuts :p

That stuff is nasty. I love cutting sugar from my diet, but the natural PB is just nasty.

You are wrong sir!

Also, JIF and the like typically have trans fats, which aren't good for you.

I eat a lot of skippy, which says it has 0 trans fats. Would this be an unhealthy PB?

Cool, thanks for the advice. Yesterday while doing Chest/Tris, I did less exercise, but the same weight reps as I would before, so glad I did that right.

I was JUST about to leave to do hiit, but I'll do a long, brisk walk, and throw the tunes on :)

Sounds better to me anyway.

After breakfast and lunch I'm at 540 calories, 80g of protein, 30g of carbs and 15g of fat.

No problem! Last thing you want to do on reduced calories (i.e. "cut") is to impede your recovery. Like you said, throw on some music or what I do is download a TV episode and watch it while walking and since they're usually 40 minutes long they're perfect. :)

Also, it is better to overshoot your caloric estimates than undershoot. So for example if you were eating 2,500 calories before, don't just drop to 1,700 in 1 day -- you'll go nuts. To be super safe some people would leave their diet alone and add cardio in first .. then in a week or two start reducing carbs (leaving protein and fat mostly the same) and tweak as needed.

Do you have a specific date you're cutting for or no?

that sucks but you think its cause he was juicing though? no reason a 22 year old should die in a sauna unless his heart was already strained from something like steroids....or other drugs.

I think this is the key. RIP Zyzz

The guy is (or was) damn good looking too.

As for peanut butter, get almond butter instead. Superior taste and probably healthier, too. Haven't had peanut butter in years.

Here is my FitDay breakdown.

http://www.fitday.com/fitness/PublicJournals.html?Owner=SeanR1221

I was getting about 2,000 a day before.

Actually feeling pretty good, but I also really upped my water intake today (I think I had 5 liters so far)

I figured now is a good time, because once it starts getting cold, I can focus on eating more and lifting more. I'm usually a lot less hungry when its hot like this, you know?

Almonds are gross. Tastes like tree bark.

THanks to this thread I am now able to do 3 sets 10 pullups, sometimes weighted with 10 lbs. But today I tried to do chin ups (underhand pullups) and could only do about 6

lol wtf

Your extensors are lacking. (I'm assuming when you say underhand you mean palms facing inwards)

GAF,

I've been taking pre-workout drinks with creatine and wanted to switch to one without (history of kidney failure in my family and my doctor said i should stop). Any recommendations for good pre-workouts that don't contain creatine?

Thanks!!

So over the past month I have ripped THREE (3) dockers and am pissed because I destroyed good pairs of pants.

Though just for the hell of it because I really only started lower body training 2 months ago that I would re-test my measurements tonight to see if maybe I got bigger.

5'9"
~180 lbs

June 1, 2011:

Waist: 34"
Hips/Glutes: 39"
R/L Thighs: 23.5"

15 minutes ago:

Waist: 34.5" (+0.5)
Hips/Glutes: 41" (+2.0)
R/L Thighs: 25.5" (+2.0)

I guess that's the reason! Put on 2 inches on my glutes and legs in 2 months and that is with ONLY bodyweight lunges, bodyweight split squats, and cable pullthroughs. No squats, deadlifts or any variation.

I guess I'll test the rest of my body this weekend though I don't see my upper body having as big of a jump. I have naturally big legs. Another interesting thing to note is my bodyweight hasn't changed much in the last several months. Maybe a couple pounds here and there, but mostly I am hugging 180.

Nice, good to know you can still gain that much just with bodyweight lunges, as I guess that's what I'll be replacing squats and dls with.

I never did cable pullthroughs. Do you have any links to good form descriptions?

Are you measuring after lifting?

My arms today were 17.25 cold but around 18 after lifting it's a huge difference.

I found a nice wooden weight sled design off the crossfit forums that i'll build this weekend. I've wanted to do this for a while.

Hi, haven't really followed this thread much but I am new to fitness as a whole. I have started taking the gym and dieting seriously in the last few months or so, just got a question here.

I've been doing the same workout for over a month now. Should I change it or continue doing it? I have been extending the time of my jogging and adding weights to all the exercises. My aim is to lose some of the tummy fat and build muscles.

Here is a good video of Dave Tate talking about pull throughs.

Nope, last time I lifted was Monday. Yesterday night was over 24 hours since then.

Who is Zyzz and why was he important?

Skinny geek, who become an adonis. Girls wanted to be with him, men wanted to be like him.

Wasn't he claiming to be all natural? Also, I remember reading his diet was ridiculous... and completely unsustainable long term... Either way, I guess he paid the price.

Personal milestone today -- I military pressed 75kg for 4 reps, standing and unassisted.

I'm so excited i just had to post it on a message board, filled with anonymous people that I probably will never meet!

I don't plan on going any higher - it's a very form disciplined exercise and I've had horrible luck with injuries. My gym bring out one of these babies, so I'll be using that from now on:
