Any suggestions for a gym bag?

I'm looking for something that has both a clean and dirty compartment. Something so I can put my clean gi in the clean part and then when I take my gi off after class I can stash it in the dirty section of the bag. Same with gym clothes. Is there such a bag?

Most gym bags. What's your budget? And do you need it to be something you could theoretically carry around all day (ala Lululemon) or would you prefer something that looks like a gym bag (ala Under Armour or Nike)?

Oh, I finally got the actual numbers for my cholesterol results. It's 136 for me, and the upper end for a healthy level is supposed to be 130.

So that's not really too much, right?

Today marks the halfway point if my projected 5 year survival rate and 2.5 years of being without a functioning thyroid. Some days are good and plenty were bad but I'm halfway there. Blood markers down, current tumor shrinking and back to the bulk.

Here's to the FitGAF community and the next 2.5 years. Raise a plate of food in one hand and iron in the other and toast to more gains, cuts, health and stealth brag phone case, hair and bulge pics! Cheers!

While most of us here play life on hard mode, Jack has to up the ante and take it to survival mode.

Keep it up bud.

I am going to try the wrist stuff for 2 months and see if I see any improvement. worth a try

You're better off carrying/holding heavy shit.

Why are you doing wrist curls?

Thanks all! If it keeps going like it's going the chances of it coming back won't be zero but they won't be high so that's a plus.

Now if science can just make us all a pill so we don't keep injuring ourselves we will all be set!

Hey guys, I went from 185 (8.28.16) to 169 (10.8.16) since starting MMA fight training (Muay Thai, Brazillian Jiu Jitsu, Sparring for about 2-3 hours a day for five days) but my stomach seems to be getting softer and flabbier as time goes by instead of getting harder? I've been on a broccoli/brown rice/chicken breast diet and I've been eating very clean with minimal cheat meals, anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Here's my weight/dates:

185 (8.28.16)
181 (9.4.16)
177 (9.10.16)
174 (9.20.16)
173 (9.29.16)
172 (10.3.16)
169 (10.8.16)

Thanks Fitness Gaf!

Are you lifting?

Not at all but my arms are way more muscular and bigger than they were before. As for my belly, I've been doing about ab exercises to failure everyday for about 10 minutes each day in Muay Thai training.

You may be losing muscle. Hardness comes muscle. Start lifting. Pick up a copy of Starting Strength and get them delicious muscles.

I just ate 1200 calories of chocolate... I feel a mixture of emotions right now. Lol.

I'm still in a deficit though, which means I won't get fat, right?

Unless these are the ab exercises that you're doing for 10 minutes, I don't think you're going to develop more muscle in that region.

Actually, we do use medicine ball to lightly drop on our stomachs in class, lol.

Foundddd my answer on Bodybuilding forums.

The reason I think that I'm not losing muscle is because.. well, my arms have gotten wayyy bigger with much more definition as well as my legs, they have gotten pretty muscular. My only concern is that the belly fat I had went from hard -> soft but it turns out that is a side effect of using fat. It becomes less dense and becomes... soft and squishy. bleagh. Hopefully it'll go away soon.

You don't want to know what I crammed in my mouth hole while i was cutting XD

If you stick you your allotment you'll be good!
The most surprising finding of my chocolate binge is that I feel like I have boundless energy and focus. Woah. I don't think I've ever felt this hyped for a long, long time.

For everyone who is at their goal body, how long did it take to get there? I'm only a year into lifting and obviously I feel like I look a lot better than I did last year but I don't even feel remotely close to my goal. Maybe in like 2-3 years I'll get there but I'm so impatient lol. I'm only 22 so I shouldn't really worry too much I've got a lot of time to build more muscle but I've always been kind of a small guy it makes me kind of anxious not reaching my goals fast enough.

what are your goals?

I stopped trying to "get that body I saw in that pic on someone else" a while ago, your body will follow a path you are not aware off and you won't look like anybody else.

I train to the best of my capactity and don't try to dwell as much on some kind of promised results, it leads nowhere (for me).

at 22, getting a Six-pack and reasonably ripped should be doable within a year if you started being skinny a year ago.

if you want to pack muscle, start training now and wait til your 30s, that's probably the best point in time to see the results of years of training.

Welp, tomorrow I'm starting the keto diet. I dont really like the word "diet" since it sounds temporary, ephemeral. This is a lifestyle change I'm making. If I followed enough Zefah posts from his years of praising Keto in every GAF health thread, the rules I set myself are:

-75%+ of calories from Fats, 20-25% from Protein, 0-5% Net Carbs
-Stock up on potassium/magnesium to avoid the Keto flu feeling
-drink a loooooot of water
-Get enough fiber from the raw veggies you can actually eat
-Omega-3s, Saturated/Mono fats GOOD, Trans Fat BAD

I got my macros, I got the food with the right macro/micronutrients, I got my goal plan, I got my exercise regiment on lock, lets do it
