Yeah, thats what I mean. Normally, i wouldn't pack it down but when measuring brown sugar I do. With leafy greens its going to matter a lot more. I guess I'll just start trying different methods and see what works best.

You really have to eye it and account for the empty space. For kale, I pack it in tight like brown sugar. For a recipe that says a cup and half of strawberries, I cut the strawberries in quarters and place them in a measuring cup and try to eye it.

Great thing about making a smoothie is that you can taste it after and see if it needs more x or less y. Which helps :)

Haha I'm in absolutely no shape to be competing in any appearance-based contests right now! My diet has been mostly rare steak, a starch of some kind and scotch for the last 4+ weeks.

I think I am about to get an epic before/after pic comparison, but I am not sure I'll dare show it.

basically, I caught me in the worst angle possible with my camera (it wasn't even intentional) some days ago, at night after a huge meal, after weeks of no shits given, pizza and whatever all day " I am bulking anyway, right?", ...

It's getting better and today I saw upper abs after workout so things are heading the right way.

but dat before pic isn't material for the interwebs.

So how often is too often to hit arms? I usually do some tricep work on bench day and bicep on back day with a dedicated arms only day after leg day.

Arms are a small muscle, they can't accrue 'much damage and heal quickly. You're definitely fine with how you're doing it.

People rotate in and out. Especially the older crowd. Cooter and I have done so several times now, MTP too. I imagine he's on another out rotation. He will be back. On that note. Today I did speed bench and OHP as Assistance.

Had(still have) a lot of weird problems with inner elbow/shoulder pain when lifting so I had to take months off....back now, though, and trying to adjust and do things right. I have pain in the back of my shoulder when I do bench press. I tried to adjust my form a bit but couldn't really find the right position. Any ideas on how to get past it? DB bench is a bit better but still wonky.

Are you lifting weights? The weight loss for 5 1/2 months is good, but you don't really look like you have made any muscle gains in that time, which can make a massive difference to how you look. I'm a little over 6 months into my fitness kick and I've probably lost about the same weight as you, at a guess, but building a bit of muscle, especially in my chest has made a big difference to how I look. You've made great progress in losing weight and just a bit of extra muscle definition will really make it stand out.

Dude, a half of a year is NOTHING. You're doing great...keep it up. When you compared 18 months to 12 months to 6 months to day 0 you'll shit.

I've been lifting for a year. Made all my strength gains in the first 6 months but got even fatter at the same time. That before pic was me at my strongest. I'm definitely not a strong guy but I really need to ride out this cut before I'll be able to eat enough to get bigger muscles.

I've been eating around 2500cal per day and I'm still losing weight. What the hell. I seriously do not understand.There's no way I'm burning more than 500cal per workout. Could stress be a factor??

Why are 70 lb dumbells for seated OHP really easy but the 75s are really fucking hard to hit my desired rep range?
 
I'm back in the gym seriously. I had gotten up to 170 last summer and slimmed down to 140 again. I'm only 5'7". But I'm working my way back up to 157. That's my target weight. I'm going slow though. I tend to gain a lot of weight in my stomach and I hate that. It's genetic, my grandfather has the same issue. Anyway, wish me luck.

Instead of thinking about it in lbs, think of it in %. It makes easier to understand why a 5 lb is so hard for upper body lifts. You're asking for a 7%ish boost in performance in muscles that require a decent amount of volume to grow and get strong. Keep hammering in volume and you should get it soon. Getting frustrated is only gonna make it harder.

I have that set. Can't really give a review as I have never figured out what to do with them. They seem decent quality I guess.
