FL Gov Debate: Republican Rick Scott refuses to debate for 7 minutes because of a Fan

Our state's Governer situation is so bad. These two are both morons.

Crist is not a moron, just a bit too opportunistic.

He should have switched to independent earlier, instead of moving further to the right. The party he once was of, left him behind.

So Crist violates the fundamental laws of magic and brandishes one of Scott's horcruxes on a televised debate, and you accuse Scott of wrongdoing?

Yay for more Voldemort references!

I love that someone had to start a "FOLLOW THE RULES" chant because of their political affiliation, when it blew my mind that they weren't allowed fans to begin with, and the request was clearly only initially denied because Scott thought it would put Crist at a disadvantage, since he asked for one.
Well, if one candidate asks for a specific concession outside of the rules (the added note about the fan posted above) and the other thinks he can do without it, you can bet it'll be used as a bargaining chip.

However, as petty as Scott was being, allowing Crist to come out and having one of the moderators to ask him a question really opens the debate up to accusations of bias. To keep the playing field level, no matter how juvenile the candidate(s) is being, they should keep that sausage making behind the scenes.

I find his decision not to do that a little moronic personally :p

Moron is a strong word. I just don't particularly care for either and I have to question why they make certain decisions more often than not.

You seem not to have watched the rest of the debate one of the moderators clearly didn't like crist.

So good.

This too.

It'll all be a joke until you realize that his people back stage were feeding him answers through subtle manipulation of fan. They turned the oscillate function on every time he was supposed to answer "no." It's disgusting.

I watched the first part of the debate. Truly bizarre.

I don't much follow Florida politics aside from Rick Scott's evildoing. But his opponent is a former Republican Governor? Is that right?

When I saw the thread title I thought it meant that Crist had a fan in the stands that Scott was too petty to put up with before he/she got escorted out.

This is at least 1000x as pathetic.

Clearly 'electronic devices' was meant to deal with phones, tablets, laptops, etc.

If you want to nitpick it, I guess you can say a fan goes in there too. But then you look like a petty nitpicking dick .... like Rick Scott. But that is your style.

Pretty much, complaining about the fan is just nitpicking. The rule isn't there for stuff like fans.

Yes, but considering how far to the right republicans have moved, it's not all that surprising.

Yup. Crist didn't lean as far right as Jeb Bush, but he definitely ran under the republican banner. He left office and became an independent, and then picked up the democratic nomination when he realized he needed one of the big two to back him in order to afford a win.

Has he (or his platform) changed at all, or is he pretty much the same?

Oh boy, I thought "Fan" meant real person, I was mind blowned, this is some epic shit of legends...

Good luck, Florida !

The thing is, Crist changes his opinions and party affiliations depending on how the wind is blowing, so having a fan nearby really is an issue.

Oh man, my current governor. And I laugh at how my father thinks Scott is more trustworthy and reliable than Crist.

Happy to have sent my ballot in already to vote for Crist (even though I don't like him, he's a far better choice than Scott).

FLORIDA residents, please vote Rick Scott out, Please, please show up and vote. Its going to be close, so every vote will matter.

It's all going to depend on whether or not Crist can find and destroy all the horcruxes before election night. I hope he has some basilisk venom handy.

He really has taken a huge swing on some issues. He admitted that he stood against gay marriage while running before in order to secure the office. He's supporting it now, which is a massive change of opinion, but it aligns with his political backers. If he personally supports it or not, I could give half a shit. I only care that he'll make good on what he's saying now and push it through because he's promised to do so.

The video in the OP is virtually perfection. Scott's petulant behavior, Crist's shit-eating grin, and the moderator transcribing the events unfolding like he can't even believe what the fuck he is saying.

Was I the only one who thought it was going to be some guy that watched politics like sports? Like a fan of politics?

"WOOOOOOO! GO CRIST, YOU GOT THIS MANNNN! YEEEEAAAAAHHHH!"

To be fair to Rick Scott, you have to kill someone to create a horcrux. He only committed one of the country's biggest Medicare frauds. He didn't actually murder another human being.

Oh, you don't have to remind me. I'm not awarding him a repeat term outta the utter garbage he did this last term.

Or apply for a mail in ballot. I know how *some* of you will be too lazy to go out and vote.

I like to do it in person, somehow I'm still a register Republican and they send me cheat cards on who to vote for, I do the opposite. I'm a rebel.

Oh don't worry. He's fucking gone.

It's not that certain. I know members in my family voting for him because he's a republican, and we certainly can't let a dirty democrat become governor!
/cries at my family's foolishness

It'll be a pretty close race, and every vote will matter.

I'd do it in person if it wasn't a long-ass wait and having crazy conservatives gossiping how liberals are dumb dumb. Ugh, I need to live within an actual city and not a suburb, on the borderline of being a rural.
