Uh oh, someone might be getting in trouble.
LAS VEGAS -- On the eve of his record-breaking megafight with Manny Pacquiao on May 2, pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather took an intravenous injection of saline and vitamins that was banned under World Anti-Doping Agency guidelines, according to a report by SB Nation on Wednesday.

Three weeks after the fight, Mayweather received an exemption from the United States Anti-Doping Agency, the report said. However, Nevada State Athletic Commission executive director Bob Bennett said USADA does not have authorization to grant an exemption. Bennett said only the commission, which was not notified of the exemption until after it was given, can give an athlete an exemption.

"Although the substances contained in the IV were not banned by WADA, whose standards USADA says it follows, the fact that they were given intravenously was not allowed."

So not a banned substance but a banned format of how it was taken.

Don't think this is a big deal.

The IV method can be used to mask PED use. That's why it's a no no

There is a reason IV's are banned..

He took vitamins and shit, not banned substances, just a banned method. I don't give a fuck, and I don't even like Floyd. Also let's be real, Floyd could have Pac with pillows the whole time and won the fight.

He didn't take something none-approved, it was because he used an IV. Pretty dumb distinction considering he coulda just took a pill for the same effects and it would have been completely fine.

He took the vitamin IV to mask an illegal drug he took earlier. Don't be stupid people. Why else would someone inject vitamins directly into their veins?

Unless using this method of intake allows for tampering.

so manny is in trouble for fighting with a fucked up shoulder that he told no one about, and Floyd is in trouble for being a doper who took an IV with "vitamins" that he told no one about

Yea I know. But we talking about Vitamin injections. If there wasn't speculation about PED use this would we really be talking about it?
Problem for Floyd is he took 15x more than the illegal amount, it makes it seem like he is flushing something out than him just not having the right vitamins. But regardless there is a reason this method is illegal

It has been mentioned that IVs are prohibited because they can mask illegal substances. Hell they said manny was denied on using a IV for a known legal substance so its definitely worth looking into and discussing.

I mean, it's pretty clear that it obviously wouldn't have the same effects or that's what he'd have done. No one takes an IV for fun.
