It's really hard to decide "which is the weakest song on the album."

I just know it's not Burning Bridges, Rope, White Limo, Back and Forth, A Matter of Time, I Should Have Known, and Walk.

It's Miss the Misery. These Days and Dear Rosemary are damn good songs.

Then again, I find the Chorus of Miss the Misery to be pretty good. Plus, it's the song that "Wasting Light" is out of.

Grohl must've written White Limo over 6 years ago! The 24 Hours of Foo special aired in 2005!

Taylor had said, around the time of In Your Honor, that Dave had a guitar lick / chorus figured out but had no lyrics, and they'd been trying to figure out how to make a song out of it for a long time. White Limo must have been it.

I'm sure my brother will think it sucks, but he listens to T.a.T.u so his opinion is worthless to me.
I never pass up a chance to talk shit about my brother.

Now that I listen more stuff from this album, I really hope this is not the last album produced by Butch Vig. He seems to fit in their style like no other producer has; it's like they have finally found their "George Martin". Being a fan of both bands, I think he can add more to the Foos, than what he did for Nirvana (which is my opinion, wasn't much. Nevermind has great songs but the production was a lot better on In Utero).

I was a little worried when Dave said it was going to be their "heaviest" album to date; I love the side projects like Crooked Vultures or Probot, but the Foo Fighters have certain "melancholic/pop" sound that could be lost trying to sound like Led Zeppelin or something. This album, I don't know, is like the perfect mix of their 95-99 melodic songs with the power and energy of the recent ones.

Right now, this is my favorite thing from them since There is nothing left to lose. Dave can do no wrong.

...and that, kids, was the first time I sucked a dick for crack
That is almost exactly what happened at the Sony party in 2003 with Brady!! Hahaha. Dave always gets people up on stage.

Fucking love this man!

Pat Smear is so much older than everyone else, hehe. This live performance is absolutely epic.

White Limo is seriously one of the best things Grohl has ever written. It's like Queens of the Stone Age, with a massive punk rock kick in the gut.

Just to let people know, the documentary on Foo Fighters will be on VH1 and palladia tonight at like 10 EST. Palladia is showing Storytellers now and will follow with the Wembly stadium concert before the film.

Good stuff, would like more stuff on the new album.

Probably no mention on TCV because they already had the bit on QOTSA and used it in a way that almost sounded like a possible breakup moment, while TCV might just fit in a happy little moment, like Probot.

I liked the little animations of the album covers, especially for Theres Nothing Left to Lose.

Someones gotta get the skin and bones concert DVD...

It's insane though, FF has, to me, easily has 30+ songs that I'd want to hear on a playset.

Also, love the touch of adding the acoustic sets in concerts. I went to see them when they were in Birmingham. At the end of the long walkway from the main stage, was a round opening. When it came time for the acoustic part, the whole band would walk down the walkway, to the end. A stage with the instruments were up in the ceiling the whole time. They would then sit and perform there, on a tiny ass stage. Just added something great to the performance.

I know that's when Taylor sung his song, and they played the "which percussion instrument gets to have a solo?" bit. I think the triangle won, somehow over cowbell.

just watched the documentary. fucking awesome stuff.

Just about to finish it up and I have to agree. What an amazing look at the history of the band. I've loved them for a long time but never really followed them closely enough to know a lot of the stuff this documentary covered. Hoping for a blu-ray release soon.

Documentary was absolutely fantastic. This needs to come out on Blu-Ray. Instant purchase for me.

Can't wait until Tuesday to pick up the actual album.

Yep, but DVD for me cause I don't have an HDTV or a Blu-ray player. I hope UPS doesn't take all damn day to deliver it Tuesday, drove me crazy waiting for my 3DS to show up.

Just listened through a few times. This album is rad.

If you put me on the spot, I'd have a hard time choosing a standout favorite track. I do keep coming back to White Limo, though. It's like I've gone back to 1995. Totally old-school Foo. Classically structured, lots of fun stuff with stereo separation, and appropriately screamy.

Arlandria is also excellent. Lots of variety, nice and melodic. The expansion-contraction vibe it has going is very compelling. A Matter of Time and Walk also have a really good The Colour and the Shape feel to them.

The first couple of tracks have really great opening hooks, but I do kind of feel like Bridge Burning and Rope both develop into kind of an opaque wall of sound in parts. Back and Forth also seems to suffer from this problem to a degree. Which is too bad, because the opening for it is so good.

Overall, very very solid, though. I don't think it's going to knock The Colour and the Shape out of the top spot for me, but it's a great return to form, for sure.

Um, wow. Just when I thought the LCD last show setlist couldn't be topped, here comes Grohl. Seriously, that's some farewell tour type shit. Only really missing some of In Your Honour's Rock Disc stuff for me.

also what was good is that they got the new songs out of the way first. i'm not saying i dont like the new album (i do, a lot!) but so often there are times at shows when a new album has come out and there is all this momentum built on playing some of the classics and then near the end of the show its deflated by one of the new songs that no one knows.

not saying they'll do this at every show, but for a show that is 38 songs it was a really good move on their part

They did say they built the new album in the same way they think about making setlists, so it makes sense that they would play the whole thing in one go.

I was curious to see if there was any information about this, and I found this post by you from almost 6 years ago!

Also did a quick search and found a video, on myspace of all places.

Dave Grohl <3

Oh my sweet Jesus Christ. I can't believe a video of it actually exists now!! Can someone rip the file so I can save it forever? This cannot be lost!

I was, quite literally, front-row at the very center with no one in front of me but Grohl himself. It was truly the greatest concert experience of my life. Right on my 18th birthday.

Beat EviLore at pool.
New album is fucking boss. Been trying to catch the Documentary but I keep missing it. It is on again at 7 today on VH1 hopefully I can catch it.

That Brady video is fucking amazing. I'd have been shitting myself if I'd have been him, wouldn't have known how kindly Grohl would have taken to being asked to play Nirvana. Guess we all know now :lol

Yeah, I stand by my 30+ wish setlist songs. There's 36 on there, and there's still a few more that I'd like to hear live, like Febuary Stars, Walking After You, Low, New Way Home, Come Back and more.

Nice to see Aurora on there. Not sure how often they play that, but they did on the concert I went to. They played a super long version of it, and they bathed the whole arena in this outer space-like lighting during the song, it was hypnotic.
