He's not wrong :lol. It is sad. He did do some bad things.
Way I see it is, like I said in the Whatsapp group, he did (or at least sanctioned) the undertaking of some atrocities. The greatness came after his incarceration. He renounced violence, he pushed peace, he influenced entire generations of people to build upon the work he'd been able to achieve through violent and non violent means. That's the best thing he did; that despite the way he went about his actions (and let me stress that the ends justified the means), he influenced millions that fought that cause without violence.
