He'll deliver. El-Sha and Balotelli up front.

Matic does look good, but he's in a fairly poor league. I don't follow Benfica in Europe so I'm a little wary if he would carry over his form into the PL.

In regards to Oliver Kay: I'm actually a little shocked he said that tbh, we signed Toure, Alberto and Aspas to improve the overall squad (or more specifically, to improve the bench). We had a relatively big squad when Rodgers arrived, but he has since removed all the players who don't have a part in the bigger picture (Downing, Shelvey Carroll) and has replaced them with ones who take up less wages and suite the style of football we are trying to play.

Kay didn't say that, he was quoting the other teams scout that said that. And really, are you surprised when another team disparages the signings of a possible competitor?

Fuck Allegri.

They can not play together. Milan nees to to sell one of them. Shaz was left to riot while Mario dominated the ball and failed to bring him into it.
He hasn't played much and looks out of it. I still think they can play together.

No Kakà?

If he plays like he did so far, I'd like to see Honda-Kakà-El Shaa and Balo upfront. Fuck the defense.

And as Zabo said, El Shaa has to be 110% ready to play or Allegri won't see him.
How did I forget Kaka. Lol.

Attack-wise it looks good, would love to see that lineup sometime.

TBH, if we were still in the League Cup, we would have seen more of these players play. I expect to see them starting the earlier rounds of the FA Cup. We tried to buy players that would go straight into our first team, but it didn't work out...

I feel like Toure has been a useful signing. He has provided similar leadership qualities on and off field that we loss with Carraghers retirement.

It's hard to assess Aspas. I thought he looked decent in pre-season and could see promise against Stoke. He needs to bulk up a bit and has recently come back from a couple of months worth of injury. With Sturridge out I would like to see him play up front with Suarez, rather than as the drifting out wide forward when he played with Sturridge. But Sterling has used this opportunity to get himself in the first team. Rodgers does not rotate much so if you get a chance and perform well, you keep your place.

I think that Alberto looks like a good signing for the future. He is only 21 and looks good on the ball and very composed. Plays with his head up and does not panic. When he came on against United, he helped the team regain some composure after being heavily under pressure. I've always been impressed when I have seen him play. Hopefully he will get an opportunity if Henderson is injured.

Fuck Allegri.

It is just many people thought he was tired and that is why there was a drop of in his form last year. But when Mario came he started dictating the ball and slowing the game down . Shaz was at his best when he was running at opponents. Mario just wants to hold the ball and either draw a foul or shoot.

I hope Allegri gets them playing well together because if those two can get it together then

Which is the reason they lost a CL spot to Germany.

Having Udinese play in CL didn't help either. They have to reinvent their squad every summer because of how they run the club, which means they start the season playing like shit. Thankfully it seems Fiorentina, Roma and Napoli finally got their shit together, so hopefully we'll never see them reach a CL spot again.

Sorry, by the way Kay phrased the evaluation of Kolo, Aspas and Alberto, I took it that he agreed with the scouts views.

Also, many scouts are not exclusive to one club, many are outsourced and have their evaluations of players available for a cost. Just many clubs prefer to have their own specialised scouting system to find players who play into a team's style/philosophy.

For example: it won't be worth a small League 2 club to have a big global scouting network as the infrastructure costs would be far too high, but it would be worth hiring someone elses scouting record of them in another league if your unsure if its the right transfer.

EDIT:

TBH, if we were still in the League Cup, we would have seen more of these players play. I expect to see them starting the earlier rounds of the FA Cup. We tried to buy players that would go straight into our first team, but it didn't work out...

Agreed, not being in the League Cup or Europa League means we don't really need to use the B-team at this early stage, but I think you are right in us using them in the FA cup (Rodgers may use his tactic from last year in the Europa League where he would start with his B-team and then substitute on his big players (Suarez and Gerrard at the time), to change the game when it wasn't going well).

And I think your evaluation of Toure, Alberto and Aspas is spot on! ;)

Watched Best of Enemies. He's obviously bitter but I kind of believe Keane about how Fergie used the MUTV interview as an excuse to get him out of the club (maybe thinking Keane was slipping, perhaps prematurely, a la Stam). Show us the tape, Fergie!

Otherwise, Vieira is uber-likeable. Didn't bring up having a WC medal when Keane brought up six or seven titles. Totally right about Scholes too: the most complete midfielder of the PL era.

Wut?

Best, maybe. Most complete, no chance. No pace, no tackling ability, average heading (due to his height but still,) average set pieces (I imagine since I don't think he took them)

OMG this article on Cleverley is perfect:

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/tom-cleverley-futuristic-misunderstood-genius-2913872

Of course it looks like he’s doing nothing and on a very basic level that’s true, but in doing so he’s actually keeping all possible options open. He is the game’s perennial equilibrium, or it’s perenn-ium. Think of him as a nuclear deterrent during the Cold War, or a huge zero-sum tool.

The truth is that Tom Cleverley could be anything he wants to be but chooses to be Tom Cleverley. If you ask him to do anything more specific he’s useless. He is in essence, Schrödinger's player.

The amount of times I see him do something spectacularly subtle or brilliant to deceive a defender and they simply don’t get it. It’s no use being the most accomplished magician in the world if the slow child you’re hoping to amaze isn’t paying attention. They miss the sleight of hand and don’t look where they should.

Last 3 games haven't been great otherwise been ok.

We've only had 3-4 players performing good enough and that's valdes, neymar, Sanchez and octopus. Bartra has alsobbeen pretty good actually.

Valdes is fucked with an injury. Alba and alves been injured too. Puyol is broken. Iniesta is shite. Xavi is slow. Pedro is inconsistent as can be. Messi is dead until January. Cesc and song don't belong. Pique has been dead since 2011. I don't even know where tello is.

So yeah lol. Not really a great time ATM but still gonna win CL.

If any blame is being tossee around it should be going to the coach not the players
Barca fans are spoiled rotten

I hope they do, I like watching Milan.

How does this explain him never making a forward pass and not knowing how to defend?
I think he's been trying for 2 games now, going forward, getting stuck in.

Ignore it, surely you have played on much worse. Seeing that makes me love football and brings back memories of playing with half flat balls on ground much worse.
fuck growing up in London was tough
It's not about that, just that refs might make another decision again.

Seems to be STARTING. Pitch looks a bit clear but it's heavily snowing still. Weather pls.
