Football Thread 13/14 |OT19| It's a good sign when its boring

I don't think our tactics will work very well in Europe somehow, reckon we'll come third in the group. Tbh, I'd rather finish fourth than third, since we've seen first-hand how beneficial a lack of midweek football can be. It's worth sacrificing that energy level for the CL, but the Europa League just has that lingering aroma of 'second-rate'

And yes, I know that we're not eactly in a position to turn our noses up at the EL just yet.

Honestly, Chelsea can just fuck right off. I'm so happy they're almost certainly not going to win the Premiership this season. They're just awful and it would have been a travesty if they'd beat out us or City.

Mou's gambling. He wants 0-0 here and want to win it over at the bridge, but Atletico is going to have the goal advantage if they score over there, which they will if Chelsea bothers to attack then.

And attacking here, possible ending up with a result like against psg isn't gambling? It's all about balance and with Hazard and Eto'o missing i think this is the right gamble.

How is it overrated if it delivers results?

stats dont mean nothing. what he done with porto was admirable, give him 100% credit. chelsea, spends loads of money at a time and camps his pen box = not impressive.
inter milan = italian defence, done same thing again.
at madrid he flopped and got booed out of the country = deserved

This does not disprove a single thing he said.

Of course it does, he said he doesnt deserve the praise he gets, hes won all that of course he deserves it.

the manner in which he delivers results. his clubs have 0 style, he spends loads of money just to have those expensive skillfull players park the bus in big games and leaves a trail of chaos after he leaves the club. short-term manager, quick fixes, doesnt deserve the praise he gets.

Also, trail of chaos? Not his fault we appointed Avram Grant until the end of the season, then Scolari, then Hiddink then Carlo (<3)

Not his fault Inter hired Benitez and Carlo seems to be doing alright.

Well at least with a goal, they'd have leverage come the second leg. Atletico will score next match, so they better win it then.

Thank goodness this is during the week when most Americans can't watch it. This is the kind of gams that ruins the sport's rep here.
