They expected the same from Robinho. It ended nicely.

Robinho moved to Real for less than 1/2 that fee. Every transfer of a young player is a bit of a crapshoot. You don't throw out that BIG of a figure though unless you're completely confident in the player's ability.

Robinho has scored a decent number of goals in Europe.. you're acting like he flamed out after a year.

Just wondering, do guys flop in football like they do in basketball? Or are guys actually getting hurt when they're cut under?

edit: now I get it. Yes they act a lot, it's part of the game.

Yes, a lot of promising players flop very often when they arrive to a big club.
I don't understand the last part of your question.

If you really believe biggest fee = biggest talent, then I got nothing to discuss with you anymore :)

No, someone from Ireland is coming over so I've give them the ticket I had (he comes over for a few games a year ). Is it sold out? Might see if I can get another one tomorrow.

Few thousand left if that strange ticket-counting lad on readytogo is to be believed.

Tbh, I watched the last Milan match and I was 100% sure I was watching Robinho on the bench, but it was Emanuelson.

Hernandez is so one dimensional it's almost unreal.

I would make a joke about mexican players, but they trashed us last night.

It's true, Hummels really is shit. Or Kagawa. We should have spent those €350k on free beer for the fans.

Also, if you look at it that way: Bayern traded Hummels for Breno and paid €7.8m on top of that lol

Ah. I meant Psychological rather than Physiological (had just written physiological in my work before hand).

Yeah we do a bit of everything.

Biomechanics.
Exercise Physio
Strength & Conditioning
Sports Development
Sports Coaching

Its the Psychology part I'm interested in.

Ah right. The sports psychology looks like it is a half decent course You looking at doing anything postgraduate? Should be starting a Msc in forensic psychology in October.

Would have been a very soft penalty I think. Definitely a bad game for MNF. Another Arsenal - Newcastle would have been nice.

There's obviously lots of flopping and diving. But I actually suspect players are in pain a little more than we cynics (myself included) often think -- especially when it's cold. Kind of like when you accidentally kick something around the house, and you think, "Oh my God. My toe is broken. Oh man, that hurts. Oh jeez... Hey, it's getting better. Uh, guess I'm fine." That's why they get taken off looking half-dead, and then are back running full speed within minutes.

As bad as football is for flopping, I think basketball is worse, these days. It's become epidemic, because the refs are so bad it distinguishing between the real and the fake.

I believe that a team doesn't spend 53 million pounds unless they think the guy they're purchasing is absolutely at a world class level and better than almost every other player in the world. There is a certain threshold where the price DOES equal the talent. That's all irrelevant though, all one has to do is watch Neymar play. His ball skills are unparalleled at his age.
