Really?
Has 2-3 good games in a season. If he can gain any consistency perhaps.
I hope that's not directed at Nani.
Really?
When was the last time Arsenal managed to have a good transfer window/deal?
Thierry Henry leaving before 07/08? That was the last time the whole "sell superstar, hope rest of team is spurred on by their departure" worked, partly because Wenger bought very shrewdly in that window and partly because we relied too heavily on an aging, increasingly injury-prone striker in decline (hmm...now why does this sound familiar). Eduardo, Diarra (even if he was sold shortly afterwards), Sanga were all effective, while allowing players like Cesc, Adebayor, RVP, Flamini to really come into their own.
I was talking to a coach that was once an apprentice footballer (before it was renamed as Youth/Development/Professional Youth) about the differences when he was coming through the ranks 20 years ago to now.
Basically the guys now don't do anything.
They had to clean the changing rooms.
Clean boots.
Do errands for the senior players.
Ball boy duties
All of which engrained a bit of respect and understanding into him (also bumped the meager pay they got back then).
Nani is 25 now, so he'll be around his peak physically so this will probably be the height of his football career with a mix of physical ability and mental understanding. I can't see him ever getting better, or becoming consistent.
Are there better wingers out there? Probably.
Will you bid for them? Probably not.
So in that sense I can understand why you'd want to resign him, but I wouldn't throw money at him.
RAWK said:Are you really comparing one of the Top strikers in the world to a Top class CB? Sorry but its a lot easier to find a top class CB to do a solid defensive job than it is to find a 30+ goal scorer.
Cause if you wanna do that comparison then let me put this way. If you had a choice to sell Suarez or Kompany who would you sell?
Just read about PSG offering 45mn for Moura. I mean, really?

can anyone summarize Reto Ziegler for me?
IF they dont sign any good defenders they will be doing just that.My dad will probably be over the moon that Arsenal are doing so well transfer-wise. Real sign of intent. If Van Persie does stay - even until January at least - they will be a true force to be reckoned with. That is unless the usual Arsenal luck kicks in and they still can't do any better than *just* compete for top 4.

Priceless, these lads.
they will be a true force to be reckoned with.
How would you feel if RVP signed a new deal? He won't but hypothetically speaking.I still back them to fall apart. Injuries, hilarious defending, wantaway key striker, dawdling and petulant midfielders.
Damn good signing for Arsenal.
Also lol @ goal.coms top 50:
3.Messi
2.Casillas
1.Ronaldo
Only 1 Bayern player in whole top 50 as well. Ahh that site is such a joke.

Our back 4 are decent, aside from Gibbs, and if we can get Sahin as we are obviously trying too then we should be okay. I'm hopeful that Steve Bould being our assistant coach will help our defence. The players have already confirmed, well Szczesny and Vermaelen have, that Bould is working with them defensively so we will see how that goes.
It was, or are you trying to claim he's consistently playing his best football? In which case I won't be able to agree with you. He's hot/cold.
