Reading the Barca book by Graham Hunter and apparently Man Utd nearly signed Xavi in the early 2000's. Fml :(

I'm going to buy that, I think. What's that other Barca book that centres on the Pep era? I'll grab 'em both.

Excited for the Champions League draw, even more excited for the Europa League one. Liverpool versus Hearts tonight, too. Brilliant day of football related stuff.

There are a lot of those nearly signings that makes you wonder "what if?". Yesterday I found out that Brondby had the chance to sign Modric back when he was 18.

He's probably at the same level of Matri.

Exactly, what's the point? He's not an upgrade.

With two days left, looks like we're done here.

Someone shop Marotta's head please. :p

We've apparently let Maynard go to Cardiff because we need the money for a "top class striker", so says Sullivans son on twitter. Can't believe our transfer rumours come through the chairman's son, what a mickey mouse operation :p

I hate the CL draw. It's so long winded and boring. I always watch it though, but I wish it was done like the fixtures and they just announced the draw and who was in which group.

In a few years they will call him the new Del Piero after he has dominated Serie A.
lol, if Del Piero was young right now he will probably dominate this Serie A alone for 10 years.

The point is that we need 5 strikers, we have 4. The upgrades were all too expensive or impossible to buy. So the remaining striker were Berbatov, Bendtner and Borriello. Berbatov decided to remain in England. Between Borriello and Bendtner Conte has probably decided to try Bendtner and see if he's good, he's way younger than Borriello too.

P.s. I'm probably becoming annoying with this Bendtner defense, and I don't really know him really well, so I will stop it now, let's all just wait and see how he play with us!

What the fuck is up with that Yesil rumour?

That's some crazy shit, biggest what the fuck deal this summer. He's the highest rated young striker in Germany, even higher rated than Ducksch. He just signed a professional contract until 2016. And now he's about to leave for 1m? And Rudi Völler is okay with this?

lol what, what the hell did Fazeli do?

Samed is the most brilliant prospect in German football now with Can. He cannot go, this is a total fuck-up by Völler.

He didn't let Schürrle leave for 30M€ and he is getting rid of Gomez-II. What a waste, it's saddening, really.

Kir em da dan et Fazeli, kos khor e sag !!!

Lucio has blasted former club Inter following his departure from the San Siro in July.

The 34-year-old spent three years at the club but was informed that his services were no longer required, resulting in a move to Serie A rivals Juventus.

“I think that was an act of ingratitude from the club, given the way that things developed.” The Brazilian told UOL Esporte.

“They could have told me the truth sooner. Instead they waited until the end of the season to tell Julio Cesar and myself to find a new club.

“Inter showed a lack of consideration towards us.”

The experienced defender signed a two-year deal at Serie A titleholders, Juventus and insists he is happy to have embarked upon a new chapter.

“The fans now tell me I am at a real club, that I need to forget Inter," he added.

“In the future, I want to return to Brazil. But for now, I want to play two more years in Italy.”

I like how the fans are treating him, I'm pleasantly surprised.

The list of players we had a realistic chance of signing yet never did for various reasons is long and annoying to read. Two that stand out are looking to sign Ronaldo before he went to United (everything agreed except personal terms, we wouldn't give him the terms he wanted so he turned us down), and Dani Alves (he was offered to us for £8 million, we said £7 million and wouldn't budge, so we didn't get him. Ridiculous that we missed out on him over £1 million, if indeed the story is true).
