why the fuck is iniesta playing?

welp bout 10 minutes to kickoff in Santiago so Im nervous as shiit but luckily Im hammered. Id be happy with 1 point along with a venezuela and peru loss.

If pekerman plays mosquera or yepes...

Must be hopeful of 4 foot 3 Jermaine Defoe getting on the end of it.

A great cross can be met by anyone. If you're aimlessly pumping it into the box like Downing when Suarez is up front, fair enough. Gerrard tends to get the right whip, height, curve and pace on his crosses though to give the forwards a chance to meet it. Helped of course by him looking before he plays it, which is where Enrique falls over a lot of the time

With the players they have, Belgium sure does play shitty.

Or maybe the Belgian players are overrated. Croatia and Serbia have much better teams individually yet noone praise them as much.

Not having a decent striker sure doesn't help Belgium though.

Thanks god for Gillet, the only non star of the Belgian team and yet he's often the best player.

Badstuber was saving his ass on numerous occasions, seriously he looked like Boateng today.

But this is how they interact. One's the interceptor who reads plays etc. while the other one runs to bail him out if necessary. We had the same with Merte & Friedrich in 2010. That's how Löw operates the CBs.
Hummels fails to initiate plays because there is not enough movement up front, Stuberl failed too a few times, it just wasn't as dangerous because on those occasions the WBs/Kheds stayed back.

Don't get me wrong, his crosses are excellent, if only we had some sort of striker with an areal prowess who has scored against the best 2 teams in the country this season.
