I'd take Nastasic.
Not really. Article that starts out about Van Gaal but quickly turns into an article about Mourinho for some reason, media is so obsessed by that man. Are all other pl managers so uninteresting?
yes, they are
Think it's a valid point, but you're right about the obsession.

Cringed when the Guardian's top story was Mourinho's Cesc jibe.

What's the first one's name and where in the US is she from, Free?
ieWQRwVFXk29S.png
lol his name is GQMan and he's from Baltimore I think :p

Makes more sense if he has been there this long considering city use to give acedemy players a good chance. Its sad as I know what you mean about the b team thing. I'm not sure if it is a coincidence that the last two winners of the world cup had them.Would be good to have more coaches though as well

What i mean is if I had a choice between chelsea and charlton now as a youth player, i would pick charlton all day. As there is no way to really make it at chelsea or other massive clubs unless you are basically amazing from day 1

That's not necessarily true. Plenty of players from the "top" clubs go on to have good careers in the game, at a lower level of course. They're coached well and then find clubs willing to take them on - it's a struggle and they lose a couple of years along the way, for sure.

B team thing has been done to death...but the structure of our football league is totally different to what they have in Spain and Germany. I don't believe it's a crucial factor.

The article makes a good point, albeit revisionist, we should have gone for Mourinho when he was available, he is more reliable, more successful and has the same tendency for short term as LvG.

Still very happy with LvG

"Matija Nastasic (21) has been told he can leave Manchester City. He is linked with a Juventus move. #MCFC"

Sure, why not.

Still think this is a fucking awful decision. Hoping it's just BS.. it doesn't even make any sense since he's still considered U-21 and doesn't even need to be registered. If he goes, Rekik will apparently stay rather than go on loan.

Kiiiiinda agree, its LVG's track record with youth that gets me excited, even though he said he is concentrating on the first team at the moment. I would certainly taken Mourinho though...

Crewe have a few decent players coming through the academy. Max Clayton is showing promise.

Crewe, Southampton, Everton, Liverpool between them can hopefully produce a decent starting English 11.

Bradford City on that list m8

Andre Wisdom

Tom Cleverly

Fabian Delph

George Green

world class talent

Also, Bobito talking a lot of sense. We need so many more Crewes, but big clubs stockpiling youngsters doesn't help that. Can't blame the kids themselves really. Viva's point is true too, coaching is good at some bigger clubs (also facilities too) but no reason that can't be the same at other academies lower down the tree.

I do. He's fast and strong, I've mentioned him a number of times. I think he's got a very nice future ahead of him.

Yeah, it's not ideal but this thread is very much against the B team idea I'm for so it is what it is. It doesn't hurt learning from Patrick though -- I'm sure he's doing these kids a lot of good.

I didn't even know they showed City's youth games. Unless you're talking about the highlights they show on city's website. If you don't watch a majority of their matches showing all their touches you can't accurately assess their talent.

For example, Pereira in our youth set up is hyped by some United fans for his past season even though he wasn't really great. He was great in highlights because of his ability to score from outside the box, but was disappointing most of the time. They wouldn't know that because they didn't watch him regularly.

Literally can't think of a top player that any of the big teams have developed themselves in the last 10 years. So whatever the top clubs are doing, its def not working that well. Esp given the money they spend

I would love to have a good national team, screw the premier league. I don't feel that foreign players like soldado are adding much.

Imagine if the national team united people like the Team GB, would be great

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
Poor result but some good displays I think!

Holtby showed his characteristic spunk, being everywhere at once. I love him.
Lamela's main contribution was getting in a fight but its good to see him back in a white shirt (rather than topless on Instagram in someone's car.)
Cabellas was pretty confident on the ball, and it's nice to know he's alive. His move that won him that panalty was great - ditto Pendado.
Brad could see their third goal coming a mile away, he was already pointing at the runner.
Our defence is awful and bad.
Friedel cannot play the sexy Neuer/Lloris style of sweeper keeper and not just because of his age.

I thought it was a good showing from us overall, it's always tough to play a preseason game against team that is in mid-season. Young players did well, Holtby was excellent, Kane got a great assist. Defence was dreadful but we'd never see those kinds of selections in an actual game, our second half back 4 was 3 kids and Kaboul. Capoue and Holtby going off was when we went a bit shit in the middle, if we had been able to use Dembele or Sandro instead of Ryan Mason we'd have pissed on them.

I mean if we are 7th at Christmas again, well fuck D:

Above all I hope LvG can do better against the smaller teams, if we continue to lose every midfield battle ill fucking cry.

Cleverly and world class in the same sentence lol. George Green and Wisdom could be tho.

Ah yeah, no top players. When you said "make it" I took that to mean, make it as in have a career in the PL/FL.

I think one of the biggest problems our young talent face at the top clubs is the foreign talent. They're not just competing with other English players in the United academy for example.

Jack Wilshere? Kieran Gibbs?

Ha got me there, i'm not taking welbeck though.

Also i'm not sure why shaw is ahead of gibbs for england.

Ah fair, I get what you mean. United do have a good record of getting players into championship and league 1 clubs. I guess i'm just jealous of teams like bayern who have players like lahm, Mulller playing for them.

Was just watching a porn movie with Maya Lee.

Banter going on.

Comparing skin color because the guy filming is white as fuck and she's tanned from being in LA.

She says his dick looks ghostly.

He asks her if she ever had a ghost fuck her.

She said "Yes, actually.".

I smiled and thought of Mesut.

I am expecting a slow start due to the players having to adapt to LVG's ideas, but the fact there is an actual fucking plan will be comfort. I expect slow start, come good after Xmas, finish third/fourth.

Yeah our clubs are definitely not doing enough to develop talent and get them through to their first teams. I 100% agree with that.

But I think things like the travel and time limitations also has a role to play there - those are being lifted so we'll see what happens in the coming years.

Also, even going through the England team vs Italy, so many of these players were blooded in the lower leagues. And people still think Leagues 1/2 aren't worth it. Fucking madness!

Hart, Jageilka, Cahill through loans, Baines

Not to mention your Lamberts etc

Well the 90 minute rule used to exist until 2011. This changed the way top clubs could recruit kids. David Beckham for example would have never have been able to join United's youth set up at 14 if that rule existed back then.

In case you missed it ManU GAF:

-one of our ITK ultras said we're selling Vidal in August for 50 million (euros)
-La Stampa is reliable when it comes to Juve most of the time.

;)

Tbh I think the only person who really knows what's going to happen is Vidal himself, so we'll know for sure after he comes back from his holiday in a few days

Can't really afford a slow start because of the piss easy fixture list.

Those are the games you really need to pick up points in if you want a chance at the top four.

The muppetry levels have gone off the scale, his neighbours have said he's selling his house cause he's moving? What if he just wants a bigger house?

La Stampa said he's moving.....but apparently somebody broke into his house earlier this year and he could be moving to another area in Turin.

No idea about the ultra. Vidal has had plenty opportunities to kill off any speculation but hasn't done so. In spite of that, I think he's staying.

Yeah there needs to be a solution that doesn't screw the lower leagues. I feel like the premier league has already ruined the championship to a degree. If you don't have a billionaire you're struggling to pay the bills due to parachute payments

Vidal put his house in Moncalieri up for sale. It's done, Yurt.

Congrats United-bros, treat him well please.

True. Actually I don't know ow what to expect lol, will be a fun ride anyway.

I don't know if we will start slow in terms of points on the board or not but I am pretty concerned about our team adapting to LvG's visie and structuur.

Alot of our players are really stupid, I get the sense of that anyway. In a tactical sense I mean.

Think a strong start is important mostly for confidence though. Last season will have hurt alot of the players and if we don't get results early on I think they'll find it tough to believe in themselves again.

It's only going to get worse tbh - unless there is a significant change.

The trend is set and it's only exacerbating itself every year. Money drives everything in our leagues.

The PL is too powerful, they do what they want and the FA can't do shit about it.

Don't the parachute payments help you to pay the bills? Widening the gap between those that have got to the PL recently and those that haven't
