Happy with that half. Great work rate from the boys. Also loving the goal line tech, even though that particular situation wasn't particularly contentious.

How does the indicator work then? Is it like in hockey where someone sitting in a booth presses a button to flash a light/blow a horn when he sees the puck go completely over the line?

Sensors in the ball and on the goal line I believe, referee has a watch that beeps or vibrates or some shit when it's over.

Kind of, but it's automated with multiple cameras seeing if the ball crosses the line, and instead of lights/klaxons going off if it's a goal, the referee will get a notification on his watch straight away.

Goal line has a load of cameras focused on it. When the ball crosses the line fully, the referee receives an indication on his watch (in less than a second supposedly).

It triangulates the ball's position then uses basic 3D maths to determine if it's over or not. Then it buzzes on the ref's watch.

What if there was a close call, then instantly a foul and the ball crosses the line, thus tripping the alarms/alerts?

How would the ref differentiate the timeline?

Ref gets one of these fine watches

Reminds me of those old Cassio watches i had in the early 90's, good to see the FA is embracing the past

Wonder if its water resistant to 100m?
