Why is it already to say LETS KILL STOKE but not LETS RAPE STOKE

Either both are equally inappropriate, or you're picking and choosing what to be offended by.

Is it alright tho? It's kind of a logical fallacy to say it is. Saying you are going to kill/murder someone is still a bit of a psycho thing to say. How about don't use either?

But in any case, it's a cultural and puritan thing, not necessarily something we should agree with. Same reasons sex in media = bad, murder = OK. That doesn't mean it should be alright.

I think you guys have the mental capacity to understand that much instead of acting dumb and pretending people just like to act offended.

*I'm not trivialising people on their death beds here I'm just saying that I'm done with this world and I feel fulfilled.

Speaking of trivial things

I think we're going to lose 3-1 tonight and Hitcher will be insufferable

Sounds about right. We really are specialists in kickstarting other clubs' seasons, aren't we? Happened with Napoli after the Supercup and now Inter as well.

4-4-2!!!!

Januzaj didn't even make the bench. Fuck you Gaal. I have no problem with that, but you could have played him for the u21s two days ago if that was your plan.

Is Bellerin highly rated by the Arsenal fans? Haven't heard much about him but he's looked promising in the few appearances he's made so far.

Not highly needs to get stronger and has to go through alot more education on the defensive side of his game. Potential is there though

I find both distasteful tbh

Well that's fair enough isn't it? If you are offended by both, and you don't use both, you're being consistent.

But umpteen posts go uncommented on every week in here with 'blank is going to murder us', 'we are going to get killed this weekend'. Just because the American media dictate that sex is worse than death and rape is a worse term to use than murder doesn't mean I think they are, and I wouldn't necessarily modify my behaviour to display that.

Odd that people would pick on Yurt for that and not every time he's used murder.

Kill as a metaphorical term has been in use a lot longer than rape and doesn't have as harsh a context. It's more "transferrable." Like you can say "that's killed any chance we had of winning", "kill the lights", etc. Couldn't really slot rape in there and have it mean the same. It has a meaning outside of actually murdering someone: to stop, do away with etc. Don't think you can really say the same about rape.

I was one of the people defending that poster because I believe context is important. I don't like being a hypocrite with some words being ok to use and other words not being ok, as if some victims are any less important than other victims. That's not how gaf works though. I hope Zabo doesn't get banned for pointing this out as well. And no, they didn't trivialize anything in this context.

We'll shut up.

Yeah I agree. Especially as "a cancer..." is a common expression and not meant to make light of cancer. I think the ones offended were people who speak English as a second language.

Real question is who's getting injured today?
