Yup, perfect example just happened. Di Maria, instead of coming up midfield with the ball on his feet and an option to dribble (you know, the things he is majestic at) or try a through pass or go wide, gets the ball outside of the area with his back to goal, and has to turn into 2 players who instantly dispossess him. His speed and skill instantly become irrelevant, and the only player he might be able to find to get a pass is further away from goal and can't take a shot.

It's so infuriating to watch.
