Dont think so. There is simply no matchplan or tactics. A system based only on individual class is what Klinsmann did at Bayern. Players are fine.
The situation at hand is a bit more complex.
Players out of form (Müller, Costa, Lewandowski, Alaba, Boateng) and I can't blame Müller after he was barely injured throughout his career and played already so many games.
Was about time he needs a proper break for once.
Players who are past it or shouldn't even be on the field, like Lahm,Bernat,Alonso and fucking Rafinha.
A new coach with different tactics that aren't really working well yet, is certainly another thing.
And young players like Coman, Sanches who are far from being a consistent alternative.
Your squad is simply not really balanced that well.

Players out of form is a managers job to bring them into form. Playing a system (433) with a squad build over the last decade for a 4231 with only one winger, full backs that play wide but do not close any gaps in midfield. You can't blame them (Lewa, Alaba or Lahm) because those mistakes happen mostly because of totally non existent plans for each player in how to behave in certain situations.
I had the privilege to watch some trainings sessions the last couple of years and what stood out most is: A traning session before matchday last 90 minutes under Pep. Every detail, scenario and tactic was rehearsed to perfection. Matchday training under Carlo: 5 - 10 minutes...
Again, those players have proven how great they are and they do not simply lose their form because of Euro Cup or bad dinner in holidays. No, it's about the manager and how he handles training and the squad. Right now, if we take the statistics into account, Carlo performs worse than Gaal in 2011. He is only a bit better than Klinsmann...
Coman, Costa worked perfectly last year because Pep saw that they are pace rockets that give assists. Players not really suited for a 433 where you play with 3 strikers like Barca or Real. Forcing Coman and Costa into those roles takes away their biggest strengh. We play trillion useless crosses not from the line but from the room between midfield and the box, we try to get through the middle and handicap our biggest weapon: the wings.
Alonsos time is over, Alaba, Lahm, Müller and Costa need proper instructions in a system that is tailored to the players.
It's so funny: People said Pep forced the squad into his system, when in reality he found systems for them they could play in every situation. Last year he played a 442 to fit Müller and Lewandowski... and it worked! Ironically it's Carlo now who force them to play a 433 with no flexibility and no proper defensive idea. Our club build a philosophy of possession under Gaal, Heynckes and Pep and the big Teddybear now ereased every inch of our DNA in only 3 months...
