I can't abide by not qualifying for Europe and seeing it as a good thing. The Europa League is just as important for teams with aspirations as the Champions League.

There are eight teams left with a chance of winning one of only two European trophies. I doubt Fulham fans are as happy about their midtable finishes as they were reaching Hamburg 3 years ago.

A draw will be a decent result against Everton although they won't be so defensive because they need to win as well so we may be able to punish then due to that. there is no rule on this. referee has complete discretion, he can choose to rely on his linesmen whenever he likes, or he can choose not to. he obviously thought the linesmen had a better angle, which is perfectly fine. the rules do not say anything about this, other than that the linesmen can help the center by indicating a foul is called.

the referee is completely free to ignore the linesmen if he thinks he had a better view of it. the degree to which a ref is dependent on the linesmen is completely up to his discretion.

the commentators being up in arms about the distance of the linesman was ridiculous.
