Fortnite Chapter 3 Gameplay Leaked - Receives a huge UE5 Upgrade

Idk why this is an unpopular opinion, but Fortnite always looked quite good at high settings.
yup. max settings with raytracing on PC is good looking but i don't play that high because RTX hits hard and i prefer to able to run at 140-160fps.

i also happen to love the artstyle of the game. people think it's too cartoony but i like it. while that trailer didn't seem a big difference i'm still excited for the changes.

i'm not seeing a big difference.

still excited though.
I haven't seen what it looks like on PC but it's a huge step-up for consoles. PS5 only received a small graphical boost from the PS4 version, so there has always been a huge difference between the gameplay and cutscenes.

Avengers on PlayStation got an exclusive Spider-Man skin that was just a reskin of Black Widow and had no real single player missions.

Fortnite which is on EVERYTHING gets a real Spider-Man skin just a couple of weeks later with Spider-Man gameplay.

I need a comparison shot to see the difference. It looks good, but it does not look ''Oh this is UE5'' kind of good.

I realize that the artstyle does not help here, but even imagining the UE5 features, i am not seeing a whole lot that wouldn't be achievable with UE4.

Is it still only battle royale in this game? I tried it way back when. I'm shit in BR and the co op mode was dead on ps4

I don't like Fortnite at all, tried it and hated it.

However..... if i was 10-15 years old now, i know i would be loving this game, that trailer looks so colourfull, all the different characters, weps, etc..... it really is an amazing children's game.

I believe the title is misleading. I think it's featuring some UE5 mechanical features not the actual visuals. This looks exactly same as UE4 with sprinkles and UE5 is far more capable, but then again Fortnite's artstyle is what carries it

No, it's running on UE5. This has been known for a while due to the dataminers discovering the migration to UE5 about a month ago.

Do you really think Epic isn't going to migrate their flagship game to UE5 immediately?

No, I don't think that. I am saying that there isn't a big massive overhaul shift in visuals. I guess they just migrated, add some small things but kept it same for the most part.

I knew they were gonna migrate eventually, but I thought it was going to be later and would have looked different.

But as I said, with the game's art style there is no real need. I wonder if Sea of Thieves would ever migrate at some point.

I know Coalition has moved on to UE5 officially and working on the next Gears game along with a new IP so that will be fun to watch.

The only time they can migrate is between chapters, which is when the game gets a big overhaul. If they didn't do it in Chapter 3 they'd have to wait about 2 years until Chapter 4.

They already had raytracing which is all Lumen is so you aren't going to get a massive upgrade in visuals in the lighting department. Nanite lets you use far more detailed geometry and little LOD pop in.

From the looks of it this game is using everything UE5 has to offer visually

This looks so damn good wow. As i said in the other character leak thread, i skipped two most recent seasons to play other games but looks like i'll be all in this season. Did not expect that at all.

Say what you want about Fortnite. That looks fantastic and would get me to revisit the game for sure. I'm just not good enough at it to the point it becomes frustrating.

I'm pretty decent when it comes to the actual fighting/shooting aspect, but totally fall apart when it comes to building out vs other players. I just accept it and enjoy the game for what i am good at. Also playing with my kids and helping them get victory royales is a great feeling.

I'm not seeing why you'd think this is a children's game. Tons of games don't have blood and hookers roaming.

Never really gave Fortnite the time of day, maybe this will finally be the time for me to jump into the craze?
The good thing about it is how much it evolves, well that, and once you buy the battlepass it gives you more than enough vbucks during the season to not have to pay with real money for the next season.

I'm a member of DadGaf. Only started playing this in Chapter 2 Season 2 with my son. I have to say if you come in with no biases, I think most shooter fans will enjoy it. It has something for everybody and it's quite fun. The building adds a lot of depth too. If you have stayed away due to bad reputation, I recommend trying it. It's pretty great. And with an all new map and engine is a great time to give it a go. Besides, it's free.

Not my cup of tea, but they've done a great job with that game. Looks fantastic even in that compressed random linked video.

I actually enjoyed watching Competitive Fortnite, it's really fun to watch.

Is it a shooter again or still all about building. Would play it if it had a shooting only mode.
There's still building but a lot of people don't use it and for those that do you can burn them down pretty quick with a fire weapon such as a firefly jar.

I love playing it for that reason, it's hard to go back to drab reality of Warzone. New map and features look awesome. I'm stoked.
