I'm guessing it's more to do with the guy streaming it off a disc instead of on the hard drive.

It would explain some other random pop-ins I saw as well.

It's based on whether you downloaded the torrent version to play on disc rather than downloaded it from the Marketplace.

Are the Shift screens from the 360 version?
Anyways, one thing I wish GT would borrow from other games in the genre is the closer cockpit view. I really enjoyed having two different cockpit views in the first DiRT, and I like the two views in Supercar Challenge. I love how beautiful the cockpit view in GT5P is, but in some cars, the extra view space would be beneficial (especially because I mostly play on an SDTV).

There ain't none at that price; only the extremely expensive Fanatec wheels work across the consoles.

I would just look for a deal on the official MS wheel and sell it and forza3 in march. Racing games never hold my interested for more than 2 months, but that's just me.

Played Forza III demo last night :

Impressive sound.
Great handling and the cars have a "weight" to them that I like.
The Ai is (sometimes) quite challenging...

Graphically though, GT5 P trumps it easily, no contest.

GT4 for the motherfucking win.

Its from last gen yet somehow is one of the most visually impressive racers ever.

What we will be seeing in future iterations is both games becoming more similar to each other. This is already aparent to me after playing the demo:

- Forza 3 menu looks almost like a GT menu and is using similar music
- Forza 3 driving engine goes more into GT direction. Cars have more weight, less sliding around all the time.


- GT 5 will have a real online mode and hopefully also a refinded physics engine together with other useful Forza features

The windows aren't tinted actually. Though you can through the livery editor.

The spectators are 3D for the most part. I actually didn't notice those cutout models.

There also isn't any pop up whatsoever.

I know you guys are butthurt here about Greenawalt's comments but there's not reason to spread untruths about the game.

First time I seen that happen, think the dude is playing the demo from a cd/dvd? A lot of people do that to get around the xbox live gold 1 week premium on demos.

The 2D spectators appear when the LOD distance is too great, but when the replay camera zooms in sometimes the game stays with the 2D cut outs instead of the 3D ones. There is one camera man on the first hairpin you can park near and if you get into the right spot you can see his 3D and 2D model apper at the same time!

I was referring to not seeing that on the actual demo.

I've played the demo countless amounts of times and have not seen pop-in once, thus, I'm sure that guy was streaming the demo from a disc (which was reported to cause issues with pop-in).

It's pretty crazy alright. Well, at least it really shows the true colors of the people trolling the Forza and GT threads. I've received flak from some of these very people for calling them out in the past. But like I knew; I was right all the time.

They're not. It looks better ingame. Everybody who played the demo knows that, but as a PS3 only owner you're not aware of it that's for sure.

These guys should be prevented from posting in either the GT or Forza threads from here on out.

All this mention of Shift among Forza and GT but Ferrari Challenge and Race Pro get no love. :lol

in car there is no tinting, go to an outside of the car view and look at the windows now......dark tints
