I'm having some trouble understanding where I am supposed to do the Forzathon Drag Race at. It says the Car Meet Drag Race, so I went into an online free roam and headed to the only car meet that I have: the one at the air show. Right next to it on the the airstrip is a drag race, so I entered that with a S1 900 Caterham tuned to a drag tune, and won against some guy running an S2 Ultima. I didn't unlock the car though, so I have to assume I am in the wrong place.
EDIT: Hell, I just ran another race against some other guy in an Ultima at the same spot and won and didn't get anything. So I'm not sure where I am going wrong here.

Go to the "P" & enter the meet. Wait a few minutes and it will either prompt you to start or join a showcase race with the C button. You have to do it from there.

Okay, thanks; I'll give it a shot. That was actually the first thing I did, went to the car meet, but after a couple minutes of sitting there with car entering and leaving and no matchmaking prompt, I figured I needed to manually initiate a drag race from the marker and just star/join an online free roam.

So what is exactly happening when I am sitting at the car meet? If I join something from it, am I essentially joining an event that someone else is creating somewhere out there? Or is the game itself randomly assigning races to the lobby? It seems like it is just like a lobby without the capability to start anything yourself from it.

EDIT: Just won one. An A-class Lotus got what seemed like a huge head start and I completely screwed up my manual gear switching and spent most of the race in 6th and then decreasing and increasing back up, just horrible switching of gears. And yet I still won. Went ahead and did a second one, just to put in a better showing.

I don't really know the point of the car meet. You can join or start an online free roam. I guess it's filled with Drivatars until the matchmaking kicks in and other players populate the lobby. But since you can join online freeroam from the main menu I don't know exactly what you need the car meet for

Okay. I never really used the Car Meet functioning Horizon 2. I played like 99% of Horizon 2 offline, since I was playing it at a remote location in the Arctic with poor internet (which sucks in regards to Forza Hub; I've got a ton of stuff knocked out on there for Horizon 2 but it only shows that I played for like one or two days becuase of none of it being played while connected to the servers). The few times I would go into the car meet while online would be to see if anyone took any cool paint jobs to the meet.

I had kind of assumed the rubber banding complaints were exaggerated until I did the last head to head street race. The opponent is a Lambo Huracan and I kept losing to it in the straight away at the end. It got to the point where I cheated and forced it into a railing to get ahead. After winning I check it on out and it turns out it's possible top speed and acceleration are markedly lower than what I was driving. No amount of tuning or drafting would have allowed it to actually over take me if it had its actual stats. That's some bullshit I assume the reason I struggle in all the Hypercar races is because the game is cheating. I had kind of assumed I just wasn't good driving at S2 speeds.

The selected drivatar difficulty is only part of the equation, I am almost sure there is some kind of dynamic difficulty on top of the drivatar difficulty, whether in the actual speed, or the drivatars the game selects, I don't know, the fact that the drivatars are also supposed to take on the personality of the user (who knows if this is true or not), then there is also the style and amount of time that user has spent driving a certain car, class, track to contend with.

Then you also have a level of rubberbanding to contend with, all this combined means that selecting a difficulty is about as clear as mud.

My suggestion?, stick it on unbeatable and just suck up where you come.

The day T10 and PG get rid of the ridiculous drivatar system and just stick with "normal" AI will be a good day, it's just legacy from FM1, and just a sales bulletpoint.

Can anyone recommend settings for my G27? I must've fiddled around for an hour with the in-game and Logitech profiler settings but nothing came close to resembling a real car. I'm careening all over the place.

Yeah, that tune worked great. I was concerned about the challenge but managed to get it in two attempts (and it only took two because I honked the launch and someone else in the lobby had a similar tune and won by about a tenth of a second).

Yeah, I grabbed someone's Tune from the meetup, plugged it in and ZOOOOOM. *Achievement Unlocked* Now the car will sit in my garage forever.

Hell, that 74 Celica Drift tune which is C class will destroy. I was going for that drag strip achievement and blew everyone away with it. I bet some people were mighty pissed that I beat everyone by about 10 seconds with that car. :p

I finally got to test the FFB-changes from the last patch and a big THANK YOU to Playground and Turn 10 is due.

On-Road FFB now feels as it probably was intended before the Win10 drivers for all those different wheels threw off their on-road/off-road balance.

The FFB is now comparable with Forza Horizon 2 - and that's a good thing.
I mean, rF2 and AC are still in a completely different league, basically a different sport in terms of FFB, but that "thank you" for not just leaving the bad on-road FFB as it was, was absolutely due.

I did that exact same thing as that AI in the same spot as I was pulling away into first last night in an online race. I was already going to make it my last race anyway but I alt-F4'd instantly.

It was a spur of the moment thing.

I sent a message to Zorbs asking if he needed the drag strip achievement for the Forzathon and he said he did. So we thought we could do it privately but that didn't work out. So we ended up doing some Co-op campaign so I could knock out those achievements.

Seriously though, that shit almost ruined me. I played it for about 20 minutes and I felt fucked up for almost an entire day. I can't explain it but it fucks with your perception in some bad way. The rest of the PSVR games gave the wife and I no issues at all, but Driveclub VR was literally unplayable.

I am taking it back today and am going to replace it with something better.

how do i even initiate a drag race at the car meet? it gives me an option to select online adventure/ freeroam but idk what to do from there

So I decided to buy my first hypercar. Went with my heart and chose the Huayra. Lost its first race to an old Subaru. Not like this.

Still no regrets.

Thanks to Petran for the awesome Caterham tune!

Won the first race by two seconds and even got the Lambo HE with my level up, perfect :D.

anyone having trouble getting the beauty spot achievement to credit? visited all 13 but still says 92%. tried hard rest and removing my account from xbox one s and nothing works. even tried going to a beauty spot i already visited but nothing.

I think I got in too late with the Caterham. All drag races are just full of them and somehow they are even faster than me. :(

Have you guys tried putting the V8 (+ supercharger) in TA22 Celica? you can up everything except tires and it'll still be in C class. The car gets 1,000 and it gets up to 217 (I think it can go even higher). It's absolutely mad and you can lietrialy not turn.

I've had only two drag races and I already hate the car meet system. You have to wait forever just to start one, and the rules are the most retarded.

Oh, this Mercury Coupe that's basically better than your car? Well obviously he gets a headstart because it's only C class! People are clearly exploiting this PI system because the Mercuries are finished before our S2 cars even start, it's ridiculous.

I just know for a fact that there are people exploiting it just to stop people from getting the Forzathon challenges too. There's no way somebody can like drag races that much.

You can say the same thing about the V8 Supercharged TA22 Celica. Although I think it's still not fast accelerating as the Mercury Coupe.

Thankfully by pure luck (and quitting the car meet to get a new lobby) I got a race of only extreme track toys. Who would've guessed it, as soon as I had a relatively fair race I immediately won. There was still a fucker in an A class Caterham who actually tried to block me though, didn't work though.

The delay between classes needs to be adjusted.

I tried a few races before work this morning, and there was a GAFer in the lobby trolling people with a D-class.... Abarth, I think. lol

I don't care too much because I'll never drag race outside of #Forzathon, but it is silly.

I somehow got lucky during a car meet and only raced against a Lotus 340R and Bac Mono. Won in the Caterhum.
