I have no idea what the wizards at Playground did but the lighting of this game is stupid good. It's the most natural feeling/looking lighting I can think of.
Everything just looks/feels right.
(For OLED users, drop the brightness down from 300, it's too bright. Use the sun as a reference point.)

Game is constantly crashing for me on PC GamePass.
Running on Windows 10, 3900XT, RTX3090, Samsung980Pro Boot Drive, 64GB Ram. Got the latest Nvidia Drivers and latest Windows Updates. Never had a single crash in any other game on this system, but now it's just random crash whenever I try to drive. Was really looking forward to it. Seems like this is a fairly common problem there is a thread about crashes on PC version blowing up on the Forza forum. Other threads suggest turning off virus protection, I only have Windows Defender. Trying now with active protection on WD disabled.
Edit: Found on Reddit a suggestion to disable a service called 'nahimic' did that and now it's working fine. Go figure.

Had that in FH4, it was my main go to horn.
Haven't got it yet in 5 but got the Banjo-Kazooie one so I'll use that till I get Wololo.

Is there a way to restart an exhibition? When I was doing the first one the cutscene triggered before I had completed all the objectives and I was whisked off to the beach. Now when I go back to where I'm supposed to photograph the jade statue it's not there - the scaffolding is, but the statue is nowhere to be seen. There's an achievement for getting all those objectives. I think it might be a bug?

Playing this in 30 fps on series x is a cardinal sin , god won't forgive u for that sin.
Just deal with a little bit of pop in at 60 fps .it's mindbogling how some reviewers prefer 30 fps mode. On 60 it feels like a different game

Just completed my first online race series. Came in 3rd. Not too bad compared to what I expected. The guy who took first is just far beyond me, I have a lot to learn.

It's so true. I did the intro at 30 just to see how good it could look, but it's so much more sluggish and actually more difficult to drive to me. No going back from 60.

Decided to give it a go since I got 3 months of gamepass for $1 after I got the refund for my premium pass. Enjoying myself which isn't a shocker, always loved the Horizon series. New 12900k cpu is handling it like a champ with everything @ extreme settings and hanging around constant 95fps which is great.
Can't say I'm thrilled about the wardrobe suggestions though...

Got all the boards today and I knocked out a couple events. The Jet Ski riders would for sure have died about every 10 seconds during this race. On time the blue guy literally landed from a 50 foot drop directly onto a rock.

Played the first two races on PC. Looks good I suppose but im not seeing the big leap from FH4. Maybe ive seen the game too many times in previews, but its not blowing me away just yet.
One thing that doesnt quite make sense is why my 2080 is able to run the game at the ultra preset at native 4k 60 fps. MS had said that the xsx is roughly equivalent to the 2080 in gears 5 so that means an AMD favored game like Forza shouldve been able to do native 4k 60 fps at max settings on the xsx. The only time i dropped below 60 fps in the intro sequence was during the jungle sequence but even then it was in the mid 50s range. with VRR, you shouldnt even notice those drops. The other biomes were a locked 60 fps and with room to spare as my GPU utilization was only around 94%.
I think MS needs to unlock the quality mode on the xsx because they are leaving out literally 2x more performance. So what if it drops in the jungle sequence? Use DRS to drop the resolution to 1800p in that biome. I went back to the settings and noticed that a couple of settings like SSR reflections and shadows had been set to High instead of ultra and even then the fps only dipped below 60 fps once or twice early in the second race.

I'm 50 hours and 150 levels in so I guess it's a good time to start complaining.
I tried some of the stories and oh my God they are next level lame.
I'm not even talking about the actual story, writing or "voice acting" (heh) that's on the level of audio logs from System Shock 1. I'm talking about the complete lack of challenge. 90% of it is just drive cross country in a straight line cutting through everything that's in your way. No driving skill involved. I had more fun with some of the community created challenge cards. Example: drive a buggy through a desert in 2 minutes. The twist is, damage model is turned to like 5000% so you have to stick to the dirt road and avoid collisions with fences, bushes etc. How come random dude can create a more fun and challenging activity than Playground Games?

Im playing on a 3080 with 16gb ram and a 5600x and almost every time i hit a cutscene it crashes. Haven't even made it to character creation yet. Tried lowering graphics options and even playing at 1080p nothing works. Going to try re-installing. pray 4 me

Check if something called "nahiminic service" is not running. You can check it out in the task manager > details (or what is it called, I only have Czech version of Win). If so, kill it.

My impression is that quality mode feels okay. But I've yet to try Perf. And usually its hard to go back once you do.

Wow i just had the most annoying thing happen to in this game, so annoying in fact that it almsot made me quit the game for good lol.
I have played about 12 hours on PC, and i have had this 'low streaming bandwith' bug come up about 3 or 4 times in my 12 hours, and what it does is your car will freeze for about 4 or 5 seconds, and then suddenly start moving again, almost like the game itself is struggling to keep up with the action (Googled about it and a lot of PC users are experiencing it, even some people with 3080's and 3090's).
Now like i said its only happened about 3 or 4 times in 12 hours of play so i wasnt really bothered about it. Anyway i just did The Goliath race, the massive 15min race or however long it was, and the race is pretty hard. So i'm racing good, racing well, fighting to keep the AI off me, and over the race i managed to build up a short lead, probably 3 or 4 seconds. Anyway i'm coming to the end of the race and i get the 'low bandwith' bug LITERALLY about 10 feet from the finish line. My car freezes in place, all the cars behind me catch up and freeze beside me, the game unfreezes and the AI car next to me goes over the finish line before me. I literally didnt have time to press rewind before the AI car crossed the finish line, thats how close i was to the finish line.
Fuck this game!........for a day or two lol. The game is too fun to quit but man thats the kind of thing that has made me quit games for good in the past.
