About the "Free Launch Day DLC", is the one time token card inside the case? Do Brits have access to it on the 23rd or do we have to wait till the 27th?

Is that car really photomode? because yet again you could say that we were shown "photomode" pictures with much better textures then that.

Please don't say that is photomode, please.
 
Those that were worried by the levels of grip in the demo (too much specifically), don't be.

I just got the Shelby GT500 '07 and made the mistake of trying to drive it like some of the lower powered cars I've been using in other events. I don't need to say much other than I got one of the drifting achievements. :lol

I suspect that those demo cars had been tuned...

(On a related note, I think I might make this my starter drift car. With practice I'm now able to feel pretty much exactly what sort of grip levels I've got. Plus it's got a great feeling of weight as the traction snaps back into the rear end)
 
These reviews are insane.

I don't exactly call myself a racing fanatic but it seems like Turn 10's changes may help noobs like me. I may just have to bite..

I'm still not sure why people think the demo cars are easier to drive than the cars in Forza 2. Only two of the cars are RWD and if you push too hard on either, you will lose control.

I am willing to bet a lot of demo players did not change many default settings like tcs, abs etc.

Can someone else take a photomode picture of a textured car please, I have a sad feeling about uploaded photos :(

I suspect it's partially to do with the steering sensitivity. In Forza 2 it seemed much faster to go lock to lock and pirouette off the track.

That said, I'm actually looking forward to getting hold of the GT3 to see if the stock configuration is any different to what I experienced in the demo. Especially on long fast corners where I'm sure it'll happily kill me if I get power happy.

I'm thinking it has to be the Polyphony-developed dashboard...?

On the other hand, did Turn 10 emulate Microsoft's SYNC interface into Ford dashboards that have it available?

Isn't it in Shift?

If it is, then that's seemingly not the reason.

It's in the last three Need for Speed games (ProStreet, Undercover and Shift), and probably in NFS Nitro, too. So yeah, that's probably not the reason. Most likely, it just couldn't be completed in time to include in the game for release, but it'll probably show up as DLC. Count on it.

Ok, so I saw some videos of the R35 in action in NFS:Shift...kinda trippy seeing PD's interface being emulated by another game developer...working gauges and everything, not just some static or even a blank screen...

But maybe the fact that NFS is a cross-platform game that it's ok in their case...? I have no idea :lol

I doubt PD has any say whatsoever. They were contracted to design the display but I'd imagine that all becomes property of Nissan.

Love the new motion blur they are using, looks a lot less layered then forza 2's method.

It appears to be the same level of compression that you get when you take a photo from within Halo 3.
 
I need to find that quote from che saying the images he was pumping out, photomode will look the same... :(

So, no texture increase in photos? forza 2.5 compression, what about inproved car polygon count for photos? lies?

CHE, can you please confirm that the quality of the shots you guys have posted will be the same quality we get when we upload shots to fm.net? If they are the quality Jube posted, ill be pissed. Hopefully that shot is straight from a replay and not through photomode.

Yeah, I gotta admit, that compression level is pretty damn bad. :( Tons of artifacts around the mirrors and other lines of the car.

I just dont get why the fuck they dont give you the option to export onto a usb drive. Hell i thought that was the whole reason for the "forza usb drive". I mean 1. we wouldnt have to compress anything, 2. they wouldnt have to waste bandwith and shit for people uploading. I just dont get it. But as long as the quality is as good as the pics che has posted im fine. If its jubes quality i will go fucking apeshit.
 
I was honestly expecting images like this from photomode, in terms of compression and ingame model swapping (since it's there for every car in the menu):

For what it's worth, the model detail / quality is as high as the first pic in the photomode stuff I've done... but I don't have any way to export it right now so I have no idea if that's how it ends up.
