So let me do some Forza 2 vs Forza 3 reviews. Just to help show if reviewers see an improvement.

I mean already on MetaCritic Forza 2 has 90 (with 66 reviews) and Forza 3 already has a 94 (with 10 reviews)

IGN
Forza 2: 8.9
Forza 3: 9.4

GameSpy
Forza 2: 5/5
Forza 3: 4/5

G4TV
Forza 2: 5/5
Forza 3: 5/5

TeamXbox
Forza 2: 93
Forza 3: 95
Here's a quick synopsis:

MotorTrend Review

The physics engine is impressive. At the wheel -- er, controller -- you can actually feel the behavior of each at limit. You can feel an open differential spin one wheel, the downforce press on the car at speed, the loss of traction from abused tires. You can hear the tires go from push to slide. It's no substitute for the real thing -- what videogame is? -- but every staffer who played the game was impressed with the portrayal.

Verdict: Worth every penny. And then some.

TeamXBox

9.5

"Forza Motorsport 3 may display graphics so beautiful it makes your eyes bleed. It may be so scalable from accessible to hardcore that everyone from your grandma to Michael Schumacher could enjoy it. It may have super-slick presentation values and an unparalleled love for all things car-related, but it somehow falls short of feeling like a classic. It’s exactly the sum of its parts, which is not something to slam when you think how great the parts are. Everything about this game is great, no doubt, from the leveling system to the ability to buy user-created vinyls, to the quick upgrade system. And despite a few flaws, Forza Motorsport 3 is still jam-packed with awesomeness. "

Video Review

9.4

Forza Motorsport 3 is an exemplary racing game. It's beautiful, the controls are spot-on, the career mode is satisfying, and the multiplayer component is awesome. But there's still room to grow. The visuals could be even better, the career mode sags at times, and there needs to be at least one more option for AI difficulty. Even with those concerns, Forza 3 is a big step forward for sim racing games. Turn 10 has thrown down the gauntlet and it will be a real challenge for Polyphony Digital to deliver a superior racer with Gran Turismo 5. After all, this is the best racing game of this generation. Good luck topping it.

VideoGamer.com Review

"Forza 3 doesn't do anything that's never been done before, but everything it does do has been executed to such a high standard that it's hard to find faults - and even those are minor in the grand scheme of things. Never before has there been such a content-packed racing game, playable for people of all skill levels, that feels this good. That's the key. On the track, no matter what car you're in, it feels right. You're not wondering if the controls are too twitchy or if you should tweak some options in the menu. You're 100 per cent focused on nailing every corner, out-breaking an opponent and taking him on the inside and just having a good time. Turn 10 has created a sim racer that goes far beyond the genre's usual hardcore boundaries. It's made a racing game to be enjoyed by just about anyone."

Gamedaily Review

"We could nitpick the small things (returning courses, the developers force players to repeatedly race on the same tracks), but none of those issues affect an otherwise incredible racing experience. Forza Motorsport 3 is without question one of the best racers and a surefire contender for 2009 game of the year. Regardless of where you stand--veteran or newcomer--you should give this outstanding effort a test drive."

GameSpy Concensus Review

Pros:
A well-engineered racer that puts you knee-deep in car culture -- aka, what Forza's always done best.

Cons:
The rewind mode has some slight annoyances; cockpit view is jarringly disappointing.

I was thinking of a car I wanted in any racing game but I know it probably will never happen and that's a Toyota Matrix XRS, It would be fantastic if it would be in Forza but it's nice to dream :)

So what exactly are the advantages of the limited edition besides DLC and what's the VIP stuff?
LE comes with some tuned cars or something, vip accounts get given cars from turn 10 every so often, che use to also say you get vip status for the AH but no idea what that gives.

Can someone with the retail game look at photomode and see if it swaps the car models over? also no way to upload images yet?

cons: cockpit view is jarringly disappointing.

I agree with Spaceman that a cockpit view with tons of shaky cam ain't that great for the long run. And Forza 3 is a game you invest in for the long run. But I do agree with the Gamespy reviewer that the cockpit is a tad underwhelming. Just a touch. Plus some of the materials in the cockpits look a bit off (shifters, fabric, etc.). But hey, Forza 3 is T10's first attempt at cockpits. They modeled all those cockpits in 2 years and came out with a really, really solid effort. Kudos.

I Jizz'd in your pants too!

Anyone who has played the demo would expect good scores for the game. The career mode seems too long (again!) but outside of that the scores are where I expected them to be. Well done Turn10.

LOL, did you say "too long"?! :lol My man, this is a game people play religiously for months/years. Forza is never "too long".

I heard BlimBlim saying something about requests, I have one!

I'd love the Fiat 500 Abarth driving around the beautiful Montserrat track (not the short one from the demo) with replay camera's. If you could make that, I'd be eternally grateful.

Great designs btw Modus, love the NeoGAF one, looks really sharp there!

Nice to see the getting the reviews we knew it would (for the most part). The team at Turn 10 keep on delivering, and I can't wait to see what they have in store for FM3 down the line.

There's a legitimate point to be made that Forza feels a bit sterile and clinical, especially in comparison to something like NFS Shift, which does a better job conveying the savagery of driving a race car than any other game I've come across. That being said, while that sort of sensory bombardment makes a fantastic first impression, I'm the sort of person who tires of excessive camera shake and motion blur very quickly. Over the long haul, I'll take FM3's more subdued approach any day, even if other games may offer more visceral short-term thrills.
There's a middle ground which I think is the most appropriate.

Despite the man power, and big budgets, I don't think any of the major console racers have gotten it quite right yet. It's a bit perplexing to be honest. Something like GTR, or iRacing offer a visceral cockpit experience without surrendering to gimmicks like motion blur, and depth of field tricks. Taking from those games, some bump and shake, and wind noise would go a long way, especially in something like Forza.

Anyway, today is not the day for gripes. It's about what we do have, rather than what we don't. Good scores, m0dus mobiles, rad videos, etc. All good stuff!

I've got a simple (but probably weird) request. I'd like to see more home-screen flyovers of cars. Particularly, I would really like to see my car, the 1994 Nissan Fairlady Z Version S Twin Turbo... In black.

These guys aren't really car guys, are they. Mocking the GNX? Saturn not being made anymore?

And holy shit m0dus!

Well Saturn is being stopped...

But it's good showcasing stuff overall, something different

FY FAEN LATTERLIG DÅRLIG SCORE GITT AV GAMEREACTOR! ;)

All reviewers are entitled to their own opinion, but this was stupid.

Anmeldelsen var tydelig skrevet av en kjørespill-n00b, en som ikke er helt inne i sjangeren :)

The review itself wasn't that bad, it was generally positive. And 7/10 is a perfectly fine score. But the reviewer was clearly not a sim-guy (and look at what he wrote about the graphics (Which he was wrong about, the game/cars clearly has geometry deforming). Here is his top five all time games BTW:

1. Wizball 2. Geometry Wars 3. Guitar Hero II 4. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 5. Picross

Nothing wrong with that list per se, I'm just saying that the guy is clearly more of an arcade game guy (And Gamereactor is infamous for their inconsistency and sometimes relatively bad writing). So it's perhaps not the best place to get information about a sim-racer like Forza in the first place.

Great to see Forza 3 getting so many good scores.

So what does a VIP design mean exactly? I get that VIP cars are only available in the LCE, but how would that design work?

VIP is a title you get with the LE, so my guess would be its like a forum usergroup title where they would mass email that usergroup the car.

Anyone with the game...

Can you go into main menu options, enable multiscreen then adjust the FOV.

Start a race and let us know if it has adjusted it, eg in cockpit.

If it works it means there would be a level of customisation so people could adjust the cockpit view to suit their needs.

Awesome car m0dus!

Wow that GAF racing livery is sweet!

Hey Che, can you give any details on what VIP entails besides the cars? Like how often turn10 and others will be sending out special VIP stuff?

Starting to reconsider my amazon savings vs VIP status after seeing m0dus' designs.

Might be a push to find someone outside of MS / Turn 10 with enough copies of the game to do that. :p

God, I loved the livery editor in Forza 2. Just seeing the ones coming out right now is making my hype explode.

Gonna have to remake my Daytona Pace Corvette eventually.

We'll send out cars when we feel like it. :)

I don't want to commit to a number or a schedule because that would ruin the surprise, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a cars a week in your inbox. That's not a promise, that's a goal.

I should know more by the first week of launch. But it seems LCEs are selling out fast since allocation was very limited.
