Do we know if there's any Bathurst/Mount Panorama love in this? Even the unofficial appearance of this track in F3 (Blue Mountains Raceway from F1) would be awesome.

Is there a car list anywhere yet?

There's a couple cars I'd like check if they're in the game. I'm nearly positive there still won't be a 4th gen Trans Am, but I can hope, lol.

The game looks amazing btw, the graphics, water, cockpit view, reflections, the courses. Can't wait! :D

60fps + cockpit view + those graphics + Forza gameplay/physics =

From the equation, "best console racing game ever" is probably a foregone conclusion. Hard to say best "racing game" ever because of PC racing sims, but... damn.

I'm sure GT5 (whenever it's released) will look noticably prettier. But I don't think it matters in the slightest.

I want a track list!

Looks fantastic. It's gonna be a good time for the racing fan. And if GT5 isn't released this year, this'll make that blow considerably softer!

Very nice, although for a game releasing in 5 months I expected to see more details like track lists and car/manufacturer lists. Demo of the livery editor would be nice. And the bloody damage system, so important for some armchair race drivers around here.

I like the visuals, but not spectacular. Glad to see some improvement on the physics side.

The community trailer, with those cars spinning, is pathetic though. :lol

What would bring the visuals up to "spectacular" in your view?

Because from what we've seen today it's the best - or at least second best - looking console racing game ever. Cockpit/60fps/damage/physics What are we missing here???

Gran Turismo in the name.

I've noticed that all the games announced/demoed at E3 seem to look noticeably better than I expected. This does, Splinter Cell did, Alan Wake looked amazing, even CoD looked noticeably prettier than its predecessor. I don't really know what happened, but its pretty awesome.

Hey Che!! dont know if you remember me from the FM forums but was just wondering when the details will roll in about the editor.. Been hounding Phred but he wont say a thing. lol

Man, thats gotta be one of the biggest visual turn arounds this gen (from a sequel pov). And viva cockpit! Looks fantastic. Could do without the "definitive" nonsense but I suppose thats what E3 is for. ;) Now about those Logitech drivers...

Seriously. I'm utterly flabbergasted at how great it looks. I really can't wait to see footage from the showfloor.

Well, it's not "spectacular" enough for some...

I though graphics were great in FM2. The improvements i wanted were in physics/gameplay and they seemed to have delivered.

I have only two requests to make this game perfect for me.

1) have the Autobahn as DLC and let us go crazy on it (i.e., Tokyo Xtreme racer but with real physics.
2) Let me be able to select my own competition in arcade/free race mode.
3) Give me a giant testing ground where i can set-up cones whichever way i want. I want to do my own Best Motoring segments. Panic Break for the win!

I must say that's true.

I wholeheartedly agree with all the gushing over the graphical strides FM3 has made; it looks significantly better than what I expected, and I can't blame the devs for talking it up a bit.

Some may not care for all the "definitive" comments, but the simple fact is that Turn 10 will have released two high-profile racers by the time their most obvious rival has even a single fully-featured competitive title out the door. That's something to be proud of.

As it stands, FM3 is easily my game of the show thus far. Some showfloor gameplay vids will likely only solidify its standing as such.

And Che do you know if it was a replay or if the dude was playing it live? Cause I'm pretty sure I'm seeing motion blur. Motion blur + 60fps ? A dream come true?

360 seems to be really hitting it's stride graphically. Developers getting to their 2nd and 3rd attempts on the hardware. No longer cutting teeth. It took awhile, but the results are oh so sweet.

Those animated gifs look so awesome. Please please allow me to drive the cars that I want more often. Too often I was forced to drive stuff I didn't want in Forza 2. Especially those factory spec races. Those were terrible :(

Wait. I just thought about something. Remember all the talk about this being on 2 discs a while back? What's the status on that?

op_ivy

Fallen Xbot (cannot continue gaining levels in this class)
the background detail REALLY cements it as the best looking racer IMO. stunning detail

Just...fucking...what???? HOW? IIRC Forza 2 had poly counts around 40k. That puts these cars just shy half a million polygons per.

WAT

That's the sortof thing you say when you compare your new game to it's prequel from a previous generation. Not to a game you released just a couple years ago on the same system.

I feel like I should keep typing something but I don't even know what to say. Jesus. Me=Floored.

It's like they figured out how to work with the GPU.

Interiors add quite a few polys.

I'll buy it. Don't give a shit about cockpit view personally, but glad they included it just to stop the whining about it.

How could they increase the poly count 10x and still maintain a solid 60fps? It's an abomination...
IIRC, didn't Turn10 go through some major internal strife in the midst of Forza 2's development? That can only hold you back.

I think it's entirely possible that they just really know what the hell they're doing, but never quite got the chance to showcase their full potential. Until now?

hands-on time with it. I'm very happy to see the twisty mountain track, and car flippery, and expanded community and livery features. And a nice visual upgrade to boot. The best gets better.

It's not that I'm surprised they could increase the polygon count by 10x. They could increase it by 100x if they want. It's that they can do it without sacrificing framerate, or apparently making any tradeoffs in other areas. The backgrounds look better, the lighting looks better, the physics are supposedly better, and the cars are 10x as detailed. That's a full order of magnitude detail increase on the cars.

Play Your Way with All-New Game Modes
"Forza Motorsport 3" is an epic racing game featuring more content and more ways to play than any racing title today. An innovative single-player season mode puts you through a completely personalized racing calendar that includes more than 200 different events, including Circuit, Oval, Drag, Drift and Timed Events. No two calendars are the same; they react to the cars you love and the races you enjoy most.
Sounds promising.

great job che! PLEASE say there's a walkable garage ala pgr in f3, that would complete the game for me. :)

For this game absolutely. It made huge strides in the visuals department.

They need some head movement in that and roof damage, unless it's there and the gif doesn't convey it, as I don't remember the conference showing too much other than the weird car circus video they had going on.

It looks like a generation gap between Forza 2 and Forza 3. No joke. It's a pretty stunning jump in quality.

Che, G25 support or a PC port.

One or the other.

PC port would be nice too. Anyway I can use my existing wheel without buying another.
