Hello Turn 10,

give me an option to run both the game AND relpays at 30 frames with AA and motion blur.

Sincerely, me.

But the game doesn't look bad as it is! What is wrong with you people! lol

Unless the exclusion of Spa was a licensing clusterfuck like Porsche it shows total disregard for the community.

I am sure licensing real world stuff is not the easiest thing to deal with, I did notice in Shift 2 all the spa races are at night, so maybe that could be a requirement.

I don't think it would be licensing... if anything, I'm guessing that perhaps the textures/geometry may have been too much for the 360 (without making too many sacrifices).

Why would it be a problem ? Spa is a very long track (by recent standard) with lots of trees to hide geometry. I'd say a track like Tsukuba should be much more taxing on the hardware since you can see almost the whole track geometry most of the time.

Dunno, just thinking about texture memory and stuff. I mean, I know it was easy for Bizarre to get around by streaming it off the disc but maybe Turn 10 are still struggling with it.

I'm just trying to think of any *technical* reasons why they wouldn't do it... I find it hard to believe that they haven't done it because of either choice or licensing.

pretty sure its not that simple :p

I've thought about it a bit and I don't know why it isn't. Isn't a replay the race you've just done? You can achieve 60fps in a replay right? Even if you pull back the LODs a little bit, nothing too intensive, you can get 60 frames. That'd be the only problem. I think 30fps on a race it doable easily. If they can switch instantly from 60 to 30 in F3, you can surely switch an option in the menu amirite?

Most of the time they're so far away you can use a single line of 3D tress and just throw 2D tress behind them to complete the look too.

Edit: There's also motion blur during races in F3 or do I see very wrong? There's motion blur only on the road.

I hope Fujimi Kaido or whatever it was stays in the game. I love long, one way stages.

You know when you buy a car or test drive one, ideally you'd like to go on a drive where you get to test it out properly. I wish the game had a 'stage' where youre just driving through a winding road fill with great turns, uphils, downhills, blind corners and just awsomeness everywhere.

No time, no checkpoints, no races. Just let me take my favorite car out for a drive.

Also please let me be able to choose a field of cars in arcade mode! Why can't any other racing game (Enthusia) let you do this??? I want to pit specific cars against one another.

i think every other track and ribbon from forza 3 is 99% likely to return otherwise it would have been mentioned in the article earlier this week with the other cuts and features that wont be included.

Has anyone changed their gamertag only to find that Forza 3 treats you like a new player?

I recently changed my gamertag and now its doing this. My perfect career is now gone. All of my saved files are still on the hardrive, included the saved game and DLC, but it still keeps treating me like a new player.

WTF?

Sucks ass if I cant recover this because then I miss out on all of the carry over stuff into Forza 4.

I would pay money for this.

FUCK 30fps replays when the game runs at 60. It's dumb. You can't appreciated the higher LOD on cars or extra post-prod effects at 30fps anyway. Everthing turns into a double-image mush.

Never understood the decision to jerk to 30 from 60 as soon as the car crosses the finish line, either. Looks shit.

Because so many of you have asked, I can confirm that the Warthog is an Autovista-only experience in Forza 4. Specifically it’s an Easter Egg that will be unlocked once you have completed all of the on-disc Autovista experiences.
Autovista DLC confirmed.

Well yeah, the F10 M5 won't be on the disc and it's an Autovista car. ;)

Damn, the choice of my starter car is going to be difficult. The Ka and the Spark look pretty good but I'm french so I could also start with either the C1 or the 107. Thinking about it, American will be totally lost too but that's only because they won't know wtf those cars are... :lol

As for the photo mode feature,
vignette effect
confirmed !!
:(

Quite a load of new makes is knocking on the door to make their debut in the FM series. We have to wait and see what the future brings. Stay tuned.

Nice, looks like FM is gaining popularities in the car industry then.

Ka for me

About photomode, if Dan is talking about it, it must be something important, like they finally obtained usb export or 1080p uncompressed etc.

and only indi left ? hmm..only one new track and a month+ left with at least 2 big reveals coming at frankfurt and tokyo game show ?

Hopefully this is good news about photo mode.

More effects, let me move the camera around more and obviously less compression.

1080p PNGs to USB would be godly.

The materials (metal/alloy rims) look better in the Infineon in-game footage than in Autovista ;)
Those are some lousy cut and paste jobs from homespace and not Autovista.

Yeah, I don't understand how they can let those images be on their website. The cars are just ugly and don't do the game any justice because even during gameplay it looks better IMO.

I know, I was comparing it to real Autovista images. The new footage is awesome, but I'm not convinced by the materials used for the engine in Autovista for example. Or the Warthog.

nah, body looks very good, it's just the wheels and perspective in regards to background that make them look weird.

"I had the responsibility of importing and enhancing an older track into FM4"

I'm glad that the starter cars aren't some fire-breathing monsters. I still want to work my way up to the better cars and starting from the bottom suits me perfectly.

One man. One decision. One desire.

Blue Mountain it is then.

Shame they feel the need to wallet-rape us by holding it back for DLC, but at the end of the day FM4 desperately needs more tracks. If I have to pay for them, I will. And Turn 10 knows this.

So your conclusion should be that nordschleife is not ingame, since spa is just a third of it...
And they re pretty similiar when you talk about trees and elevation.
