It does look like some kind of render though. Mmmmm.....

Why does it look cellshaded (the 2nd shot especially).

Too much virtual turtle wax.

If they added some imperfections and toned down the shine that would almost look photo-like. But so many racers love to put super-high-res models as part of the press media they release and the games rarely end up looking as good.

Somewhat, it certainly doesn't look realistic which is what they're aiming for. Something about it is really off.
Maybe they've done that so we know it's not a photo :)
I know what you mean about it not looking realistic but I don't think it's "off". The internals are not very high-detailed, and lack good lighting, and the bonnet is a little too clean/shiny. Otherwise it looks great to me.

.... really... off?

are we seeing the same shot?

The angles and content of the shots make it very likely that these are renders.

EDIT: As in renders done by some random modeler and not renders for the game.

I'm not talking about the car modeling, i'm talking about the general look (lighting included). They don't have a realistic look to them.

It looks extremely realistic but somehow the lighting does look a touch off. Just a bit. Just enough to give you a clue that's it's not real.

I'm sure your right.

i almost thought the first one was a photo until i scrolled down and saw the road...

then i took a closer look and... wow... if that's forza 2... wow...

the second shot made it clear it was a render because of the lighting...

Yeah I have to agree. If this was a Sony game SSX would be exploding in his pants already.

If this was a certain Sony game i'd be pissed especially after that TGS trailer. There's nothing wrong with the modeling, but the lighting is clearly off.

If you told me the first shot was a photograph, I would believe you.

Same for the second shot, except for the interior which looks off.

They almost look like airbrushed photo's. Which is quite remarkable if this is ingame. (Although I still doubt it's really a Forza 360 shot).

... it's not far off!

if it turns out these are slightly doctored photos, i wouldn't die of surprise.

i have no idea whether they're real or not, but if i were to guess, i'd say they're not Forza shots, as the ground/asphalt textures look somewhat blurry, and I remember the first Forza having fantastic road textures

The pictures are fake.

The shadow in the first picture is wrong (door) and blurred (down left).

In the third picture there seems to be two sources of light (two suns? :lol) because the shadows on the car and beside the car are wrong.

I think someone took a render car and photoshoped it in some forza 1 backgrounds.

First pic door shadow looks right. The blur is from the second softer shadow under the car, it also has a stencil shadow just like in Forza 1.

Shadows in second pic look consistent to me.

Those aren't Forza backgrounds.

:lol :lol :lol lightning looks off??? I think these are way too good quality to be real time.

Some of the stupid responses in this thread reminds me of the pgr3 engine sounds thread where some people thought f355 challenge sounded better, but it turned out later that those sounds were actually real dyno sounds.. :lol

So then you're saying you think these are real photos? Here's what real photos of a Modena look like

Nice. It's a beaut of a car that's for sure.

Solidsnake : Yes, thats how a real Ferrari looks like, but the pictures are badly taken.

Overexposed and i dont know what.. so a bad comparsion of the lights etc.

i think its perfectly possible to achieve a look like that on dx9 level hardware,
so these pics could be real. the look of the road depends heavily on the lighting. fom a different angle or in different lighting conditions it might look more or less "realistic"

Did that really happen? LOL! :lol

Those top screens are really nice looking. That would be incredible if realtime (and I could see that happening). Great models and excellent lighting (very Forza-like, which is why I could why they were named as such).

Nah, looks exactly the same, out of place, as far as the lighting goes. I dont doubt these are from the Forza team as it has very similar lighting style as Forza. It does indeed almost look cell-shaded.
