any other retards feel like their brain is conflating HSG mechanics with Mario Golf mechanics?

I could swear you could hit balls on a serious curve by holding one direction on power and the other on hit.
 
I assume you are talking about super topspin. I had to look at the mechanics this morning to be sure I still understood them.

A shame that there is no option to lock at 30 fps, my msi claw cant quite handle 60, so it fluxuates and makes it harder to time the hit, other than that im enjoying the game, just gone done with all beginner courses!

Isn't this description wrong? Like for super backspin you press Up during power and Down during hit . . . Right? Am I crazy or is this description backwards?

Also I must not have homing and rising unlocked yet.

Random rewards when you play Story missions I think. I've only unlocked the butler so far.

Edit: there is a ton of content in this. It will be a game you chip away at for a long time. I really like that personally. I know others don't.

I'm gonna start playing it tonight on PS5.
Wacky Golf looks cool.
I don't like what I'm reading and hearing about the unlockables grind, though. I don't mind playing over time for unlocks when it is done right, so I hope I find a balance with the unlocks.
 
I was about to buy the game, but saw there wasn't a dedicated Switch 2 version. I'll wait until they make a dedicated version, or get it on sale for the PS5.
 
Is there a way to skip or turn off the long add animations before every goddamn shot?

I know you can start your shot, but it's distracting and annoying. I don't mind at the start of each hole, but every damn shot??? Come on now, it's obnoxious

I haven't seen anything. It is really annoying.
 
I've also encountered problems with the AI freezing up when they have a bad shot. Takes about 20 seconds for them to run through the calculations.

Those animations always throw off my button timing!

I hit the button to enable/disable a power shot. It interrupts the animation and they square up the ball. Still annoying, but that's helped me.

This is what makes this game so good. Its going to be my addiction for a long time.

I just dusted off my old oled OG vita and re-downloaded world invitational (man that was a pain in the ass going through that slow loading download list as it doesn't show in the store). Will see how different this is to that. I recall that being harder than the psp games.

I was playing it in bed last night. The loading is beyond horrible. Especially when you consider how quickly you hop into teeing off in this game.
 
I've played this a little more, have confirmed that there is for sure some sort of issue with the graphics and the cpu players. I saw a computer player today in some sort of graphical lag moment only hit a 5% power shot off the tee, lol (it didn't even get out of the tee box). That pretty much confirms that there's an issue that even effects the cpu players at times.

I like the game but it shouldn't have been released in the state it's in. I think it needed another 3 or 4 months of polish to fix the lag and interface issues. It's a 7 out of 10 game that is so close to being a 9 out of 10 if they'd just fix some things.

After selecting a character to use in World Tour mode, the character screen displays the chapters on the right side. Some of them say "Unofficial" and others say "Official." What does that mean?

If we replay a story chapter with a coin reward, and we complete the bonus goal again, do we get a coin reward again too?

I bought a club but it says I have "Insufficient Loyalty" to use it. My Loyalty is at 3. How or where do I figure out the required Loyalty level for that club?

Not sure about the rest but at around 10 loyalty, you unlock two star clubs and balls for that character.
Also eat food. It's permanent stats boost and you are often given free food as prizes

Official is the normal golf rules. So that's where you get your official records. Unofficial means it's probably tornado cup or mega cup, etc. some variation that doesn't count as official records.

No. That's a one time reward. You only get prize money and whatever bonus money you earned for your shots.

Keep playing with that character and you will unlock 2* and 3* clubs when you reach certain loyalty levels. Thats also how you unlock special shots and other perks.
 
It seems upgrading the Impact stat eliminates the input lag on shot timings. I used a new character and my timing was awful. Went back to the character with high Impact and my timing was consistently good.

Edit: which is funny because that was one of the reasons people refunded the game lol

I do not regret my purchase, as I want to see the series continue, but I'm done with it after just a few hours.

I'm now back to playing World Invitational.

Not much point continuing to play a lesser game when I have the option of better. Even if I have played before.

I do regret my purchase, but hopefully they will update this janky game.

I agree, World Inv. Is way better in every way.

It's a crying shame.
 
Well Clap Hanz has been too busy making mobile and VR slop. With them patching Easy Come Easy Golf on Switch 2 last week I'm hopeful they have a real golf game in the works.

How does Easy Come Easy Golf compare to this? I'd be tempted to drop this and play that one if it's better.

Is there an option to turn the pings off in Advanced Shot? I would love to be able to rely completely on the swing animation for when to make my button presses.

So the only way to use Advanced Shot is in Story mode? That seems kind of goofy?
 
I'm starting to think this might not be a huge grind, you just have to use all the golfers and all the caddies . . . You get a new caddie when you get a caddie to loyalty level 2. I think the same applies for the golfers. I haven't tested this theory out yet on golfers. But maybe the game just makes you try all the characters.

World Invitational is way better than this pile of trash. Hot Shots Golf 2 on the original PSX is better than this pile of trash. Hot Shots Golf: Fore! is insanely better than this pile of trash, and what this pile of trash should have been (with improved graphs, courses, physics, etc). Developers always overthinking everything... just give the people what they want. It's not that difficult.

I haven't seen a way to turn off the pings, if such an option exists. I believe that the red ping is distance to pin, and the gold ping is the halfway point of the pin yardage. It seems to be the same for putting, but I only played a 4way Scramble Match with Advanced shot so I didn't do much putting.

I never said Story mode is the only place to use Advanced shots. I found it there when selecting my character during Story mode. Another user on another site suggested to me that I go through Data and then Characters but I never found the Advanced shot toggle there. I didn't try other modes last night after I changed to Advanced shot, and I can't mess around with the game until later tonight.

For now, at least, I know we can choose Advanced shot through the Story mode round selection screen process.
