Impressions:
The game has me pleasantly surprised - graphics are fine, framerate is locked at 30fps, zero tearing, and no big aliasing problems...
Anywhere there is dirt, you can aim at it and raise/lower the ground with RB/LB respectively... very nicely done so you can basically make your own cover for yourself or AI companions almost anywhere..
Weapons are pretty good and range from standard automatic and plasma rifles, to sticky grenade launchers and standard rocket launcher, my favorite is the other rocket launcher that travels underground that you can detonate whenever you want it to by hitting X... and the ending screen shows that there are even more types of guns like freezing guns...
There are also a variety of grenades as well, some that raise the ground slightly like you can, or some that create a huge pillar of molten lava to lift things...
Best of all, I love that the physics have weight to them as well - when you blow out a wall, the huge chunks will actually knock you back, and they stay there and won't fade away either... and explosions/lifting the ground send enemies flying as well...
All in all, it's a good demo...
P.S.: it has southpaw controls for those who want to know as well...

Except it's not UE3, of course.Mdk7 said:Graphics are decent, UE3 at its worst with all its typical flaws..
The look is the same, that's what i meant...Blimblim said:Except it's not UE3, of course.
Nope, it doesn't look remotely like UE3. Art style is similar to the average UE3 game maybe, but otherwise I don't see much in common...Mdk7 said:and the flaws are the same as well![]()
To me -and to others in this thread- it actually does Blim.Blimblim said:Nope, it doesn't look remotely like UE3. Art style is similar to the average UE3 game maybe, but otherwise I don't see much in common...

nope, the general vibe i get from it...mysticstylez said:What makes it remind you of UE3, the bald space dudes? Other than that it doesn't.
You keep talking about flaws common between UE3 and this engine, can you please elaborate?Mdk7 said:nope, the general vibe i get from it...
It doesn't feel that far from say Mass Effect IMHO (even if Mass Effect is all over awesome and features insanely rad facial expressions).
My exact impressions. This kind of caught me by surprise in the fact that I dug the demo so much. Being in a crowded month this game wont be a day 1 but it surely is going to the top of my gamefly list.Mr. Durden said:Wow I actually really liked this. Really enjoyable game. Great weapons, great action, and I love the whole terraforming stuff. I'm curious about the multiplayer.

No they weren't. The HUD arrows aren't in about the last third of the level.wayward archer said:Everything felt too scripted to me. There were always these HUD arrows pointing to where you needed to raise and lower the ground.
