Franchises and IPs that will never return but fan keep asking for.

Castlevania!!!

Before people ask for these franchises to return, they should ask themselves: 'Is there a way they can do it justice?' And in the vast majority of these cases, the answer is: 'No freaking way'.

Some wrong answers:

Onimusha: came back with the remaster of the original, the rest could follow suit

Banjo-Kazooie: came back in Smash bros. BIG hint at a new game.

Half Life: cmon we had Alyx and with it the unofficial confirmation of 3.

Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy
Freedom Fighters
Eternal Darkness
Jazz Jackrabbit
Gex
Breakdown

All the above games haven't gotten a sequel in nearly 2 decades and for some it's been more than that.

There was Star Wars Squadrons last year. It even has a lot if design callbacks to the Xwing series.
That was my emphasis on single player though. That game is more designed to be head to head. Just not my jam in a space sim experience. Looked very nice graphically though.

Panzer Dragoon RPG. And no it's not the same as the shooters.

95% of The Franchises/IP's mentioned here are Japanese ones sadly, shows you the pitiful state of non-Nintendo (or Capcom) Japanese companies

Bloody Roar. Harada already shut that down though, the IP isn't popular outside of Twitter so prob won't make a return.

Golden Sun. Devs make Mario sports games.

Battle Arena Toshinden. Devs make anime games now but a Toshinden revival would be pretty cool I think.

Had you asked a month ago, I'd have said Actraiser.

I think Final Fantasy Tactics. Square seems focused on other genres now.

  • SOCOM
  • Syphon Filter
  • MAG
  • Wrestle Kingdom
  • Midnight Club
  • A proper sequel to OG COD4 (Everything after it has been toilet water. Don't @ me, Bruh)
  • Capcom vs. SNK
  • X-Men vs. Street Fighter
Literally too many to name. But this is what I got off the top of the dome. Glad these titles are left in the dust. Don't want to ruin the memory of these classics in the snowflake casual generation. Fuck gaming today.

Gravity Rush

With Team gravity gone and Japan Studio defunct and merged with other studios, the likelihood of GR3 seems slim. With that being said it's a sure contender for this thread.

Parasite Eve
Xenogears
Legend of Dragoon
Zone of the Enders
Dino Crisis
Metal Gear Solid
Soul Reaver
Castlevania
Mega Man X

Now that I think about it, it's a bit sad that most of the franchises I loved to play are dead. Instead there is Fortnite, Pay to Win mobile games, copy paste Ubisoft games and 200 versions of COD. No wonder I don't play all that much lately. :(
