Just got mine as well and i'm not impressed with it at all. I think the series peaked with SSX: Tricky.

SSX Tricky was horrible. :lol

3 was truly the pinnacle, but 4 looks...weird.

Heh, everyone I know quit playing the series after Tricky. 3 was good but Tricky was awesome when it was released.

Although I liked the variety of courses in Tricky more, I ended up playing SSX3 more. 4 looks like it's going to be a lot of fun and the skiing actually looks well-implemented. I hope my demo comes soon.

Do I need anything special to rip it? I don't have a "special" PS2.

And the demo is short. You pick a male or female, then skis or snowboard. Then you ride down a very short track doing trick, thats about it. I wish you could change the controls in the demo because it's set at the default where you have to use the digital pad to do flips and spins. I like when you can pre-load your spins/flips with the analog stick while holding down the jump button. The blur effect when you boost is nice, and the menu screens are bonkers. The highlight of the demo for me was the menu screens.
