Freedom Wars |OT| Vita's imprisonment for million years

I've beaten the main game (Code 8 and such) and I think I'm at the point where I need to work with people rather than AI. It's just seemingly a bit hard to find people at my level, whenever I do multiplayer search it's always low level players. Blah. I'm not sure what exactly changes about the AI when you unlock higher levels for them though. Not sure how many of GAF still are playing it regularly, but more people to play with is nice. I usually go to Skype or something for voice chat since don't have a good mic for Vita.

Skype works for me, my PSN is in my profile. I'm at the very end of code 7, just need some help for the final boss and will be doing endgame stuff too I guess

Does it matter where you build your Facilities on that little map? Is it anything complicated like in Legend of Mana?

Is there any real way you can screw up the Facility stuff?

No and no. Just make stuff to level them up.

Modding is easily the worst aspect of this game. Completely arbitrary and frustrating. If there is another iteration this needs a complete overhaul.

So I'm at CODE 6 now, and it's become apparent that my weapons aren't really doing the job anymore. I have weaponry that I can increase to a "more advanced" level, but I'm not sure which upgrade path I should take. By my logic, the path that increases Will'O damage looks like the one I should take purely because of the material requirements, but I don't want to start hunting for high level materials only to find the upgrade path isn't worth it. Is there a particular upgrade path that's generally more useful than the others or should I not really be worrying about that at this point?

Personally, I would go for the impact weapon. And then start feeding your weapon weapons with elements in it and try to go for a balanced distribution. You want something that is 25:25:25:25 or close to it. You only have 100 points to allocate so it depends on whether you want to maximize one element or go evenly personally I would go with even. Whenever you feed a weapon into another weapon it takes 20% of the base elements. So if I feed it an Aldering with 20 fire, you get 4 points into fire every fusion. Will sometimes randomly in inherit a mod that is an element up for all element up and it will fuck up the base stats when you're calculating so try to keep a running count and plan accordingly. Once that is done you can start trying to feed it weapons with good mods on it, add the selenium resource and pray to RNG. Be prepared to save scum via PS+ if you decide to do this.

That is the optimal way but you can make it through just upgrading and haphazardly adding mods. Going optimal is only for the end game really. I got through it just fucking around and getting some good mods and then going with come what may.

Thanks. While do love the game so far, I wish they'd go into more depth about what each attribute actually does outside of loading screen hints. I see that I'm not even in the deep end yet when it comes to weapon modification!

I died to that boss 3 times but to be fair, it didn't really bother me since I'm used to that old school game design.

What pisses me off on the other hand is how broken the physics in this game are, how some commands don't execute when you need them, how the simple press on a sub menu has 1 second of lag, how the weapons feel completely off, how when your accessory comes to revive you, spends 1 second looking at you with their weapon pointed at your head before deciding to take action... and the list is long.
This is almost a kusoge level of quality.

I also remember playing games like that, and back in the day, I was a lot more tolerant of it. Having less free time to play games now though, needless repetition only works so much for me before I'd rather just move onto another title.

I finally picked it back up again last night while fixing my son's laptop. Found a good group of guys/girls online and did all three missions co-op mode. Was a bit to easy because at least 2 of them where 8 rank or higher, but was glad to get past it. Now I can do missions to get gear and go for the platinum.

If you are stuck on a mission, I highly recommend looking for help online. There may not be a ton of rooms, but I didn't have to hard of a time finding one willing to help me if I was willing to help them as well.

Tip for those who do this; You get an item in your inventory for beating any mission you had not previously defeated. To use it, you just start the mission like normal in single player, and after party select it will ask you if you want to skip the mission and use your item to do it. The mission will then load, and one it starts it will immediately end saying you beat it and assign you a 1 star win for it. If you want to dot hat last set of 3 missions this way, just talk to the angry boss girl in the courtyard outside your room to accept the first mission, but then don't start it, go back to your cell, and talk to your accessory to chose cooperative. Once you host/find a game to join, you talk to boss girl in that session and chose the first mission. If you complete it, you'll have the next mission automatically to try next.

Just about to start the game but noticed there a ton of DLC availble. Does anyone have any suggestions on which DLC was the most helpful? I don't mind adding a few on just curious which ones make the game better, or if any do at all.

I'm not sure about the paid but I did like the hairstyles some of the free DLC had!

Question folks.

If I upgrade my group to use x level gear do I need to make them weapons too at an appropriate level?

Or, for every time I upgrade then their weapon they use is also automatically updated?

Need one more trophy for the platinum and its to max out a weapon. Easily the hardest considering I have to get lucky to even get the right materials

Try it with a weapon that you don't upgrade to an advanced model.

I can't find concrete lists of materials, since almost everyone goes for impact weapons and ends up farming for Ruined Cables, but there are easier upgrade paths in terms of materials.

I've got the game a few days ago and reached Code 3 while having all the requirements ready for code 4.

I guess that you rise in code by progressing through the story.

For whatever reason, my medical and amunition factory level cap didn't rise when I got to code 3. Is that a bug, or are they really supposed to level slower?

I don't know if this is a new feature, but there's now a chance for a propa statue to appear in online co-op right next to Zakka. It's selling special ops at random for 2000 EP each. This makes getting the ret operation you want much easier. Just bought 9 of them.

Yes, code exams are only given as part of the story. Dont' worry too much about the requirements, you should get sufficient entitlement points to unlock all the requirements as you play the story. Just don't waste entitlement points too much.

You have to unlock the cap each Code level, I'm not sure code 3 has one of those or not, but the later ones do

Just give me more monsters, locales, tone down the hostile sinners accuracy, and revamp the crafting.

Did you buy the permit to allow for higher level caps?

What?!? Time to stock up on 100 and 103.

Is there a trick to getting the spider things to not CONSTANTLY spin? I think they stop after you cut off all the leg parts but I usually get knocked off in frustration about 20 times before that happens.

Just give me more monsters, locales, tone down the hostile sinners accuracy, and revamp the crafting.

Also more big monster fights, less trash mob swarms around them. Any level with a boss that spawns sniper allies is just mean because the player is forced to mop them up as the AI simply doesn't handle long range human targets well.

Don't forget to try the previously unavailable XX302
Triple Red Rage (1x Mk1, 2x Mk2 although unfortunately not all at once)

Destroying its head/gyroscope in the center should stop it from spinning; that part is initially not the most accessible though due to the legs/shield being in the way often. Immobilizing it is probably your best bet if you can't keep it down by breaking the pod or legs over and over. Also, a timely flash grenade or stagger can interrupt the spinning move.
Note without 'head' (or boosters) it will eventually start hopping around instead. My biggest complaint about spider-types is that they are incredibly loud, especially on PSTV or with headphones X_x

Erratum: Paradoxa can still spin without the 'head' part.

Huh, alright...I figured that was a missile launcher or something. The yellow honeycomb thing?

Speaking of flash grenades, what battle items do people recommend? I usually bring debilitator, health packs I forget to use, ammo kits (only thing I actually use all the time), flare knife if no melee, otherwise frag grenades that seem useless. I can't tell how strong debilitatiors really are, flash grenades seem appealing if they stun abductors though.

Yes, the '8 small tubes in a half-hexagon formation' in the center, the 2 big tubes behind it are the web/rocket launchers.

Most of my Loadouts have First Aid Kit (+), Adrenaline (+), AMMO Pack (+) and something else like BENKEI Auto (mini turret), Flash Grenade +, Debilitator + or normal AMMO Packs if I expect to shoot a lot.
Keep in mind that any throwables can get blocked while a Shield generator is active. I happily endorse bringing at least some AMMO packs. You can also bring both the normal and the + versions of an item if/once you are able to produce them.

How do you even get more of items like BENKEI and Flare Knives? I had one Flare Knife + from a mission or something but donated it without thinking much of it. Never saw one again, my factories don't make them even on accident (only level 7 though in case that matters).

Common 'recipe' for BENKEI Auto (Rarity5) is 2x R7 + 13x R1/2, they are also rewarded for some Invasion ops. You can use 'Grade 2 Severance Specialist' citizen (R8) to produce Flare Knife +.

Nice. Is there a good site that has common recipes for manufactures, people?

I'm not familiar with guides specifically for (combat) item manufacturing, however here are some combinations you can use if you are after specific items. (R= Rarity of resource, most GPP-efficient in bold)

  • First Aid Kit (28%) / AMMO Pack (17%) : R1*15
  • Regenerator (28%) / First Aid Kit (21%) : R2*15 or R2*5 + R1*10
  • Auto-Resuscitator (28%) / Adrenaline (21%) : R4*15 or R4*4 + R1*11
  • First Aid Kit+ (28%) / AMMO Pack+ (21%) : R5*15 or R5*4 + R1*11 or R6*4 + R5*11 or R7*2 + R5*13 etc
  • Regenerator+ (28%) / First Aid Kit+ (21%) : R6*15 or R6*4 + R1*11 or R6*5 + R3*10 etc.
  • Adrenaline+ (28%) : R7*15 or R7*2 + R1*13
Note that you can 'halve' the input by using Non-Existent Non-Resource, if you like doing Cell-Gardens.
Also, various Citizens can be used to influence the output and save time.

Hardest ones was clearly the getting a weapon to level 10 and taking a Pelta in single player without respawning.

lol

Its funny though since most of the exposure that the propaganda idols have gotten is from the comiket events. Asides from that since they were not included in the main game outside of the DLC stuff. Guess the want to target that audience more than the ones who bought the game. No surprise too considering the title got hammered here, though folks seem to like the idols which also is not a surprise.

So is there any real way to get an Accessory out of the pod of the tiger abductors unless it's already basically dead? It seems like there's no way to get to the chest unless it's already on it's knees which usually only happens if you destroy very specific parts. I can't reach it at all when torn-down.

Anyone wanna do some Co-op? PSN: Ocelott

I don't see that when searching PSN for friends, my PSN is in profile, done playing for today though. I'm code 8

This basically makes me ragequit 7-6 when it happens. Usually by then the whole team is dying left and right, and the sinners with assault rifles have the entire battlefield locked down. (I still can't beat that one.)

I think the best strategy is still prevention - keep an eye on your accessory's health and how far away you are.

so i beat the main story. what is the best way to reach plat trophy? any good guides out there?

the last mission gave a headache. wiped twice. one time at under 5%. what i did was doing the first 2 parts in cooperation (in case i wipe again). nobody joined for the last part, so i just soloed it. the chains die quickly when you drag them down and unload on their heads with assault weapons.

Dragging it down will usually make it fall over sideways, leaving the pod exposed to low-hitting, powerful attacks (from spears or heavy melee) for the duration. This can also happen by doing sufficient damage to (often referred to as 'breaking') its hindlegs.
Note this may be more difficult with the stronger Ramosa variants depending on your (team's) strength, so the best advice is to keep an eye on your (and other's) Accessories to prevent additional stress.

The most 'demanding' trophies may be some of the ones that require you to defeat specific 'bosses' off-line with AI without losing Sustainability (e.g. 'Peltatum Pelter'), upgrading a weapon to level 10 and getting your sentence down to 500,000 years.

In general, doing a lot of co-op is a good way to reduce your sentence and obtain materials to be able to build stronger weapons, which in turn should make this easier. I'd suggest to fully take advantage of the Percy 'lottery' Statue that sells Special Ops/Retributions for 2000EP.

Upgrading a weapon to level 10 can be easier/faster if you choose to not upgrade/reset to an Advanced variant at level 5. In other words, just keep upgrading the 'vanilla' weapon. This way you'll need less rare materials, although you might still have to hunt for some specific items for the final levels. Reportedly upgrading the Blaster (not Barbara's Easy Blaster) doesn't require frustratingly rare materials, can't confirm this though.

Parakeetman

barbara easy blaster?

good for....everything.

Yes a fully upgraded barbara can totally destroy pretty much anything in the game.

If you have not seen the last boss yet suggest not watching this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fv1Yf0Fov28

but those 2 vids by one of Japans best players gives a pretty good example of how broken the gun when made correctly.

Though its a close range weapon, so just dont expect to do much with it for mid to long range. But thats where your mobility / secondary weapon comes into play.

kk thx. so advanced patch for the weapons upgrade or the normal way to level 10?

Think someone in the thread posted up the info that someone either actually made or translated from the instructions that JP player wrote up about how to go about making the insane Barbara.

So I know I'm doing good things, did I hear right that breaking off "bits" of abductors lowers their defence? And that cutting limbs off does direct damage to abductors when using melee severing? My biggest problem with the combat/weapons in this game is it's so crazy hard to gauge my actual effectiveness especially with 7 NPCs usually hammering the same enemy at the same time.

So Barbara Easy Blaster is the best? I've been using an EZ Katze as I find it the easiest to use with no draw backs. Is there anything special I need to do to build the "right" easy blaster?

Regarding the AI, I really wish they'd use their Thorns properly. They attempt a dragdown about once every 5 minutes and quit almost immediately if you aren't also dragging down. They generally ignore you and won't actively try to assist dragdowns. They won't heal with the Thorn. I don't think Defense thorn AIs use their charge skills at all, and Binding thorn ones use them extremely rarely. Meanwhile the healing thorn ones use their skills quite well.

And I've almost never seen the AI attempt a sever, and when they do, it's always an empty pod. I don't expect brilliant AI, but most of these feel like deliberately crippling the AI since they can't be that complicated compared to what the AI already does.

This basically makes me ragequit 7-6 when it happens. Usually by then the whole team is dying left and right, and the sinners with assault rifles have the entire battlefield locked down. (I still can't beat that one.)

It is, but I've had my accessory gobbled up in what feels like mere seconds. Or just had my entire team wiped by certain attacks. Also I've seen at least one abductor just pick her up, and I'm sure she was alive, and just put her in the damn pod. Fortunately it was a biped and those are easy to break the pods on.

What the fuck?! Is that just a regular (late bloomer I assume) one maxed to 10 or do you need a specific one of the elemental versions and a ton of addons? I assume I want Rarity 8 too?

But as mentioned before if you search in this thread someone posted info from GameFAQs that talks about making one of these. Or something similar. I remember seeing it a while back. I havent played in ages since the release so dont really remember much. Outside of the whole process being a huge pain in the ass pre-patch. And you needed a ton of materials.

Yes, it's located on Level 6 in one of the abandoned sectors. There are two terminals you can use on that level. Only one of them is used exclusively for the vendor that remove unwanted mods.

Is it better to remove unwanted mods before trying to add new odds or just to keep some so that there is better chance of it being erased over your positive ones?
