I don't want this, man.

He should reverse it and send his spoiled Bel Air child to West Philadelphia. It would be like real life.

Not really, it's just a synapse firing at this point. Reflex. Family Guy-styled knee-jerk referencing.

"Jaden!" is "Bomba!" for black roles. That's all. Same level of cleverness and relevance.

You always have the correct way of framing and putting shit in perspective Bobby.

The cast of the original was so good, there's just no way they can live up to it. I really can't imagine that such a reboot can somehow turn out to be successful.

Jaden's going to be in this, isn't he?

Might be worth it if Will plays his absent, truck-driver dad and they use Will' speech verbatim.

The logline is the single-sentence description of the show.

This article is suggesting that they don't know how to sum-up the remake of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air into a single sentence yet. Will Smith's production company has to hammer out a logline to a remake of his show.

A teenage boy gets into one fight too many and is sent by his mother to live with his rich Uncle and Aunt for a better chance at life in this fish out of water sitcom.

Shit...they should make a spiritual successor or a sequel, not an straight up reboot.

OG Carlton can't be replicated, and if they try to, this will fail.

Legacy of the show?

Why do people act like this show was great? It's Fresh Prince we're talking about here, not Seinfeld.

The show has an enourmous following and, unlike seinfeld, this following expands beyond just the USA, this show is well loved and remembered all over the world, hell, today one of the rent-a-cops that keeps watch over the place i work greeted me doing the same hand shake Will and Jazz did on the show and mused how much he misses the show. We're in mexico and he's in like his 50s

I'm sorta hoping this'll be able to be a fun entertaining show on its own.
The OG series cannot be topped, so this could go in a different direction and manage to stand on its own who knows.

Wait and see I guess.

This comes across to me like Will Smith knows people like him as he was the the Fresh Prince, and this likability allowed him to be a big star. Now since he is trying to manufacture his sons career, he thinks this will make people like his son more, so that he can inherit his fathers place.

An "attitude" will be created for the new character.

If they must continue the show, then make it the opposite and make it about sending Jaden to the ghetto to learn about real life because he lived his whole life in riches.

Fresh prince is one of my favorite shows of all time so I will continue on with my day pretending that I did not see this horrible news.
