i'm so excited for it.yeah same. i love those books. i've been to oxford the last two summers (and will go again in 2025) and sat at Lyra's bench in the botanic gardens. There is a statue of pan, kirjava, and pullman's daemon. they have some props from the tv show in the museuems. i think pitt rivers and science museum. science museum had the alethiometer from the show!
book of dust 3 is being edited right now and pullman said it's almost done editing. looks like it's definitely arriving next year finally!

The Golden Compass is one of the books that got me into reading back in eight grade (1997/1998)
I can't wait for Book of Dust Volume 3. Has he said what the official title of the book is? I love how dark the books got in comparison to the OG Trilogy. The OG Trilogy has it's dark moments but I went into this Trilogy not knowing the books are this time aimed at adults. I also thought it was just a Prequel Trilogy, didn't know the other two books were full Sequels. It was a pleasant surprise reading about Lyra in her 20s

same. well, here the first book is called Northern Lights. i remember i picked it out for english class my first week of high school.
there is no title yet but a long while ago he said some ideas were "The Garden of Roses" or "Roses from the South". yeah book of dust is darker. i'm too excited for it....i hope lyra and pan make up. i'm not sure about Lyra/Malcolm potentially being in a relationship i think it's weird. I want Will to come back but at the same time I don't. really not sure where it's gonna go. i'll have to read The Secret Commonwealth again before 3 releases.

I'll be fine with whatever title he comes up with. Lyra/Malcolm potentially being a possibility is fine with me. It would be interesting if Will comes back but knowing how Pullman is, he would rather that be realistic so Will most likely is never gonna to come across Lyra again and is living his own life

i wish i could time travel back to the 80's, 90's or even 00's. i've started to feel a lot more nostalgia for the 00's recently. everything went to shit in 2009 imo. i miss not being so online constantly. there was no such thing as a smartphone for the early 00's. wifi wasn't really everywhere. social media was myspace. facebook was around but only took off towards the end of the decade.
i keep wanting to completely disconnect from the internet but i can't. i don't have any social media. well i do have a reddit account but don't post on it. i don't have X, instagram, tiktok, facebook, etc. the only place i post now is here. giving up my smartphone feels impossible. in the past i've bought cheap "dumbphones" when i've wanted to cut myself off but it doesn't last long. life felt much simpler back in the 90's and 00's.
even though i wasn't born in the 80's i still think it looked like such a cool time. maybe those who lived through it will disagree but i think i'd want to live in the 80's.
smartphones do a lot of great things but i think the internet and social media have overall done a lot more damage to us.
