Friday the 13th: The Game |OT| You and your friends are dead. GAME OVER

From their Facebook page.
WE ARE LIVE!

You should no longer see the database login failure, you should see your stats set to where they need to be from gameplay with unlocks and perks and you should able to work with your account as normal. Bear in mind; this will not affect matchmaking issues that are still present on Xbox One and PS4.

This is mainly to remove the server issues for accounts still being locked out and seeing their stats/unlocks not displaying/unlocking correctly. We hope this is a step in the right direction and are confident in things working well, but please bear with us. We're working hard at it! Apologies for the inconvenience, but this should stabilize things for users. Our next big goal is matchmaking for PS4 and Xbox One! For those on consoles; we recommend private games for now; The Xbox One and PS4 both have communities that are playing around the clock.

We will get quick play games going just as soon as we're able, talking to both Sony and Microsoft now on resolving the matchmaking issues.

They've literally told us to not use the matchmaking right now. Use private matches until they fix that aspect.

Convinced dude is being purposely obtuse for attention. Complaining about people messaging Jason for info yet does it himself, asks how to do unhittable jason glitches, keeps mentioning quickplay after we told him otherwise lol.

No progress returned on PC version from the past 2 days after the server update.

Not surprised. Kind of don't want to play anymore. I know others have bigger issues, but this is one of the biggest on the PC.

My favorite moment in this game so far is some asshole was trying to teamkill(counselor player). Dude was chasing me so I led him to Jason, I said "Jason please kill this guy he's teamkilling, I'll let you kill me for free if you get him."

Jason player kills the asshole, then says "go run and hide and start over, not fair to have the game ruined by jerks".

Going to download this tonight on ps4. Whats this about not using quick match? No friends currently have it yet so cant do a private match. Would I just have to Gaf a private match?

On Xbox? I just see colors of the perks. Not whether something is elite tier or not. I'm trying to figure out which to sell lol.

Might be because Xbox has not received the day one patch i'm guessing. On ps4 it shows whether the perk is common, rare, elite...

Yeah, I suggest joining the GAF community and going from there. Never steered me wrong with Destiny.

Kinda assumed this because I definitely scoured this menu.

Well shit. I'll wait for the pic still so I know which to keep vs sell
Going by memory, but white is base, blue is next tier, yellow the next, red the top? Been a few days since I played, so I could be wrong...

FlyinJ

Douchebag. Yes, me.
not chaotic at all people arnt talking all the time people are quite for the most part unless they are either joking around or pointing out an objective most people dont talk unless they have to because jason can hear you

If people talk does Jason get a white blip showing their location? If so people need to shut the fuck up. No wonder we are getting slaughtered. People are just casually chatting with each other about like what they ate for breakfast.

I don't think talking creates a radar blip, at least I've never noticed it happen.

Noise - Noise mechanics are very different than fear mechanics, fear causes your counselor to glow red when Jason uses his sense, while noise will show up via pings when Jason uses sense. How much sound you make is directly related to your counselors stealth stat, also you can monitor the amount of noise you make by keeping an eye on your mini-map. Each time your counselor is making a white ping on your mini-map, that is sound that Jason can see via his sense ability.

Fear - While playing the game it is important to remember the fear mechanics in place that Jason uses to sense counselors. It is also important to note that fear is directly linked with a counselors composure stat. Your fear can be monitored by facial expressions of your counselor, and when your counselor loses their balance while jogging or sprinting.

During gameplay there are 3 ways to help reduce the chances of alerting Jason via his sense ability.

Flashlight - Proper use of a counselors flashlight may save your life. Anytime you are walking in the dark, off the trails, or in an unlit cabin, your flashlight should be on to keep your fear from increasing.

Weapons - It is important to keep yourself armed with a weapon, by doing this it helps to reduce and keep your fear levels in check.

Being Around Others - Last factor to fear is staying close with other counselors, by sticking together it will further reduce your fear, and help to keep your counselor off of Jason's sense radar.

Can anyone clarify when you will appear in red when Jason uses his sense skill?

I had one match where there was one guy left and I couldn't find him anywhere. Someone messaged me and told me he was crouching in some bushes behind the barn but when I went there he still didn't show up when I used sense. However, when playing as Jason other times, I've definitely seen people in red when they're crouching still outside.

Also, if you're hiding under a bed/in a wardrobe, does the house still appear red? Presumably you're safe from appearing red if you're hiding in a tent or toilet since that'd be really unfair otherwise.

Edit - the above post might have clarified a little, but I'm still unsure if houses always glow red if you're inside them.

The houses will only appear red if someone is inside them and their character's fear is high.

Thanks for clarifying.

Well, based on what I know so far, it seems AJ stats are kind of unbeatable for staying undetected? 10 for stealth and 7 for composure. I don't see another character with such a good stealth/composure combination. Obviously she loses out a bit on speed and stamina.

The characters with high luck, repair and strength seem kind of useless to me. No way is high repair or luck worth the trade off in other categories, and seeing as you should be trying to avoid conflict, the merits of high strength seem questionable. I can see a case for a high speed/stamina character though.

They do not. Which is why it's important as Jason to go to the electrical boxes and shut off the power to all locations so that their fear increases. Even though there are some ways to keep them stable in the dark and alone.

What does Jason's "stalk" ability do?

Remove his music when he's around counselors, amplify his hearing a bit and stop the vcr recording thing when he uses abilities. How you want to use it is if you are chasing someone and you break down a door. Get out of view and pop the stalk ability, then use sense so they glow red, then use shift and smack em(don't grab out of a shift, it's cheap). Boom surprise attack.

This sounds amazing. I'm going to have to buy this. Maybe immediately, maybe as soon as they fix matchmaking

I agree with luck and strength but repair stat is great.

What does a high repair stat affect in the game?

Less checkpoints while you are repairing which equate to faster repairs. AJ gets 3-4 on checkpoints on average and can repair mostly everything in the time that it takes for Jason to get out of a stun. It's really useful on the phone box since if you fuck up on that there is a global dial tone and Jason immediately teleports to the phones location.

Less checkpoints while you are repairing.

To put it into practical terms, when I'm playing as the athletic girl who has super low repair you have to hit the shoulder buttons 6 or 7 times with a very short window for failure on each one, the bookish girl with a 10 in repair only twice with a huge window. It's super helpful.

Just feels a bit too circumstantial for me compared to stealth, composure, speed and stamina. Realistically you'll only be feeling the benefit of the repair stat once or twice per game. Sometimes possibly never.

That said I've mostly been playing as AJ so I'm a bit unfamiliar with how bad the repair mini games are if it's really low.

I, as Jason, found a guy glitching out. Told him I'd be back for him in a few minutes just in case he was able to get free, but he never did.

Man that last game. Manged to find the gas, battery, and key. Right as I get in the car 2 others show up and we all drive off to safety dodging Jason at the last turn. Think I found my counselor of choice now. Now to get better as Jason.
