Friday the 13th: The Game |OT| You and your friends are dead. GAME OVER

I don't use a mic. Hate talking online, I mute everyone lol.
I get it, but in this game if you're on one side of the map and you happen to find the car keys, you need to find a radio so that you can let your team a fellow counsellors know which car you're heading to. Without that type of communication the game is unnecessarily difficult, Jason alrdy has a huge upper hand no point in giving him even more of one.

This game isn't for you then unless you just want complete and utter frustration.

Sounds like you'll be frustrated with this game fast then. It's not like CoD.

Oh I already have the game and played a couple of matches. You can watch the progress in the map menu though.
So you always know what you have to find or to do next without talking ;)

This game looks like a trash fire.
Which sucks, because I'm a huge Friday 13th fan.

But even if it wasn't for constant crashes and servers being down, there's still far, far too much jank for the money they're asking.

Isn't it also releasing without a single player portion that was promised? Honestly stunned by them asking £30 for this in this state.

So counselors can't talk freely from the get go? You have to find a radio to enable chat? Genius if true.

And can the Jason player hear everyone? Why don't they just isolate that player? Wouldn't that give Jason the advantage, given that he can hear the scheming of his opponents?

It's proximity based until you get walkie talkies

Jason can only hear counsellors if he's close enough to hear their voice, and vice versa. Once you find walkie talkies, you can talk to anyone anywhere, as long as they too have found one. It makes it so much easier to coordinate once that happens.

It really isn't a 'trash fire' at all, they're having launch issues cause the game is selling way better than they originally projected. They were expecting 30,000 concurrent players this weekend, but's they're reaching over 70,000; as a result their databases have been hit hard. The dev team is only about 5 people too; they've been working hard to fix it. An example: there was a issue were muting players wasn't working, matching making wasn't working with parties either; and they patched both this weekend already. It sucks so many are having the database issue, but I've been playing it all weekend and have been really enjoying it. It's really fun, and even with the issues the dev team has already demonstrated that they're committed to fixing it all.

Also the single player mode is just bot counselors and you play as Jason, there's a common misconception it's going to be a story mode or something.

It's so chaotic when proximity and waltie talkies collide. So much chaotic talking if some talkies are across the map. And then add Jason in the area talking too.

It's what makes for a good laugh lol. They just need to give us voice chat settings. People are way too quiet when they're an arms length away from you. If someone next to you had the same audio clarity as the walkie it'd make much more sense.

But they're in the same room and sound like they're across the street.

Okay, playing as Jason is so damn fun. Had about four survivors try to gang up on me around a car. Butchered three of them, then squeezed the eyes out of the last one. Then three of them quit.

Sure, but if you haven't found the map yet, you may not know where the car in question is located. Or if you know the gas and battery have been installed, you have no idea if someone has already found the keys as well. So you're either running to the car, only to find out no one has the damn keys, or you are wasting time to continue to look for keys someone already has. These types of scenarios happen every round, so finding a walkie or at least sticking close to someone who has found one so they can communicate pertinent details like these is a pretty key piece of the proverbial puzzle. If no one chats, Jason just warps to where everyone is and picks them off one by one and wins every round.

There's actually an option in the settings to have your voice projected into the game world instead of the headset. That's likely what's causing that particular issue if people are selecting it.

I am getting so good with Jason. Well at least within my circle of friends.

Why do people keep falling for the bear trap at the phones? Haha.

I'll try to tinker around with that then because I left it enabled. I had to turn my music and game volume below 50, and my headset volume on max because I can't hear people talking.

eh, doesn't sound that much different from Outbreak. I'll take the added difficulty and immersion over a bunch of wannabe twitch superstars yelling constantly.

What's your experience been? Still fun without chat?

Fun when it works. The game is broken, keep that in mind.

Yeah, I agree. It works but you need a headset for the full experience.

No argument from me, I mute those types as well as I value my hearing. But I'm not one of those types, so grab a headset and lets play. ^^

Why not just mute the annoying people instead of assuming everyone is going to be that way though?

Just had one of my most epic gaming experiences - ended with Jason slamming my head in a door repeatedly after I Fought him off initially and battled with another counselor over a car. So good.

They've literally told us to not use the matchmaking right now. Use private matches until they fix that aspect.
