Try searching for 10 minutes or so. When you get done there should be a "recently played with" option in your firends list, look at that and you'll find loads of randoms who were in your search que but you didn't get matched with. Go to private match and invite all of them until you get 8. Ive made so many new friends.

ugh, two matches in a row and I encountered foul mouthed squeakers. thankfully, I was playing as Jason in one of them and I promptly silenced him but not before hearing his sweet salt on the mic.

So my Xbox one game share buddy just bought this so I'm in on Xbox One. But yeah, so far haven't gotten a quick match. RIP.

So is it true that the Xbox one version is basically the beta client and the PS4/PC versions are more current? (I saw stuff about different UI and stuff.)

The menus look identical to the beta to me.

Wow ps4 is a shit show tonite.
I've literally searched for 2+ hours only finding 2 games.

I was team killed in both of these games, once for a boat spot after me and another counselor repaired it.
Just now because reasons I guess lulz, the game just started. These were different lobbies as well.

Between the MM and now team killing, this game is all kinds of fucked up. Guess private match is the way to go for now.

GAF community is dead. Search other communities and you'll find a few really active ones. I just joined one that has 4K members and like 30 games running right now. Don't subject yourself to the broken matchmaking.

It's pretty bad with little kids and racist people who feel the need to make racial slurs. Also get annoyed with streamers who feel the need to be extra on the mic for their viewers...

The game was pretty solid on Steam for me, no disconnects or crazy bugs that I keep hearing about. If this normal for the PC version?

Ugh... Getting grouped with buddies who collude, and let their friends win, ruins the game. I know it will never happen, because the team is super small, but I wish there were advanced reporting tools so that we could use to, as the president of the United States puts it, drain the swamp.

It won't hurt so bad when you don't have to wait twenty minutes to get a match in the first place... Still, it is super lame and people who do this suck (also, should be banned for repeat infractions).

Yea PC is pretty smooth. A few people has some issues when the databases melted down at launch but a lot of us had no problems. Without a doubt it was the better platform to buy it on at launch. I think over time though all 3 versions will be very close to each other once they get all the patches out.

On steam can still get a match within a minute.

I just hate the people who don't voice chat. That's how you win. The silent characters are still the ones who screw you over most.

I'm also shocked at the number of people playing who don't speak English. I got super frustrated when a few people with kanji names didn't understand that I was going to hold off Jason so they could escape. Speaking moonspeak and all getting out of the car while I was distracting him so they could get away.

Jason got a perfect game that time as I heard Japanese spoken as everyone vacated the car after I did. It wasn't broken down and could have been driven.

'Genki desu ka' is the last thing I heard as they all vacated.

Surprised at the number of Japanese players.

The thing that makes me mad is people expect a fix over night. This is a small team that launched on 3 different platforms, trying to patch each system. I get that you paid 40+ dollars for this game, but they are communicating and it seems like they care enough to fix the match making. Relax and try to join private matches for the time being until they can get a good patch out.

You're mad that people expect a working game? How are people that buy the game suppossed to know that its made by a small team, and is that really an excuse.

I wanted to give this a try but the animations/performance I saw in several streams really put me off the game. I'll probably get it later down the line when they hopefully improved that aspect of the game.

Nothing is as immersion breaking as choppy animations to me.

Shh quiet you, your not allowed to talk negative about a small dev teams on GAF. Did you happen to visit The numerous No Man's Sky threads on GAF. Next thing you know is someone will tell you game development is hard.




Not comparing the issues of the two games just how some on GAF think that a small dev team should not be criticized.

I do think there should be slack given to this team from anyone in the know especially people on Gaf. I think it's a miracle this game exsists and it has huge potential. That being said I do hope for a little more clarity of what each systems current issues are and time frame of a possible fix. Even if it's like 2 weeks I wouldn't care I have already had 40 dollars worth of fun with it

There really, really needs to be some kind of host migration in this game.

Just finished playing a perfect round as Jason, did loads of extra stuff to maximize XP gain, and as I'm killing the final counselor (who happened to be host) they quit.

Got absolutely nothing for the round (and ofc neither did anyone else). Really annoying.

This is a problem in general in video games. People don't know how to lose. This sucks in overwatch when you play rank and people bail out. Like just suck it up and play better next round. How can you learn if you always quit.

I get that they're a small team but that's really their problem. I feel for them as people but as a consumer I expect what I paid for.

They're a small theme so I sympathize with them to an extent, but at the same time I don't care if you're a team of 12 or 120, I expect a working product. Although I'm confident they're going to get things sorted out eventually and I'm having so much fun in private matches that I can look passed the server issues, for now.

I don't think that is a fair assessment. Sure, some people are willing to cut a small team a little more slack, but the majority of people are still pretty pissed about the performance problems. What is REALLY saving this game is that it is so damn fun (despite essentially being an early access game).

Ok GAF, should I buy it? Sounds like a ton of fun but don't know if I should wait until they fix the problems. I'm a little scared to join the GAF community and getting destroyed by you people.

I'm on a PS4 pro.

I think the expectation for a small dev team should be that fixes might take a bit longer. But they shouldn't get a free pass for delivering a game with a pretty severe bug like the Quick Play one. Wasn't the beta for backers really short and only on PC?

I wonder this too as I never play a high luck counselor. I have the worst luck in this damn game. It seems like half the time I can't even find a map. And when I do I'm all alone on the opposite of the camp.

Yeah but it cost them $8k a day to run the beta and ended up even extending it a few days. I imagine they didn't want to burn through any more of the limited budget. They didn't even pay for any advertising due to wanting to put every last cent into development. I imagine having to handout free codes for those that pre ordered the physical copy took a decent chunk of change as well.

When you get grabbed, is it actually ever possible to escape without a knife? I've never found one yet.

I think the best I've ever managed is getting the struggle bar to about 1/4 full.

Luck is primarily for weapon durability.

Yes. Some jason's have poor grip stats while having a high composure can allow you to break free easily. Ive done it a few times with buggzy

I've escaped a few times with AJ and Jenny. But other than that I pretty much never escape without a knife.
