In the weeks since I started playing the game, I've noted particularly good people to play with, so I can invite them to matches in the future. Have also wrote down a few names of players who intentionally glitch and teamkill etc. Going to start noting the username of every single person who does this in the future.
This morning I got to play as Jason. YAY! Oh but wait... some dumb as fuck, bottom tier of humanity piece of shit (who also happened to be the host) decides to do the roof glitch so that I can't get him.
I noticed this with about 15 minutes left in the game, when suddenly someone attempted to shoot me with the shotgun and missed, then I realised he was on the roof and that's why the lodge was permanently lit up. Killed the others rather than waste time trying to get him with knives (he was actively zigzagging to avoid being hit anytime I was in the vicinity).
After the match ended, I heard him speak into his mic for the first time and say "Why are you so butthurt bro" to another player who left the lobby right after. He sounded like a fucking moron when he said this, as you would expect.
It blows my mind that these people consider it worthwhile to waste everyone else's time, make the game tedious for the other players, all in the name of "surviving".
It's basically an admission that they are shit at the game and this is the only way they can "win". It says a lot about their character, or lack thereof.
Occasionally, there can be one who is somewhat amusing (this guy last week when I was Jason, standing up on this rock I couldn't reach and kept saying "It's over Anakin, I have the high ground", he then proceeded to get team killed in the next few matches which was hilarious) and I find it more forgivable when they are funny or entertaining in some way, but fuck the average person who does this shit.
A similarly pathetic encounter I had the other day, was playing as Jason and encountered a wounded AJ outside of the barn. This guy started whining about how he had stepped in a trap another counsellor set, and pleading with me not to kill him.
I thought he was saying it jokingly, I grabbed him and he left just as the kill animation started (or before, can't remember) on some "poor me" shit and I was dumbstruck that he was actually that much of a self pitying little cunt. I still have a lot of fun with this game, but man some of the people who play it seem like such pitiful human beings, though thankfully that appears to be the minority, for me at least.
This one guy actually amused me with how borderline sociopathic his behaviour was in a match over the weekend. Playing in an Australian lobby which is always good as my ping is pretty bad otherwise, and this guy early in the match is in the same house with me. He sounds pretty chill/friendly and nonchalantly points out the gas tank for me. What a helpful gent!
Later in the match, he and I are the only counsellors left and he's way over the other side of the map. I catch up with him and he's like "How's it going brother" etc when we are in close proximity again. The Jason gets closer and he's this high af sounding American guy, suddenly the other counsellor starts attacking me, then talking to the Jason on the mic about where I'm headed etc. I run into a house and set a trap at the barricaded door. He jumps in through the window and undoes what I've done with the trap and barricade, the Jason comes in but he sucks to the point that I find it hilarious, and the fact he sounds so radically different in terms of personality and voice etc to the guy who is helping him also made it hysterical to me because it just made for this weird bumbling odd couple kind of dynamic between them. The guy who was Jason actually sounded really chill and friendly, when I escaped his grab he started to give me props.
I got to be Jason the next round, and eventually tracked them both down in the same house, they jumped out the window not aware I was right there even though I wasn't using stalk. Killed them both and laughed heartily to myself. I found this particular encounter more humorous than irritating, mostly because of their sheer ineptitude.
