I didn't get a chance to respond to this guy, but here he is saying that the government of North Korea isn't evil, because America and UN allowed it to exist for so long. I don't even know where to start lol.

I think he was trying to say, that what the regime has been been doing [to its own people] has not deplorable enough (ie crossed any 'red-lines', to use the most recent term) by American administration standards, or the US would have stepped in a long time ago and taken Kim Il Sung/Jong Il out.

He's forgetting that NK has been propped up by outside entities it's entire existence, so it's not a realistic line of thinking to begin with.

Because of China's unannounced intervention (backed by the Soviet Union). It was a new war at that point and he needed more support, if not with troops then with the bomb. The US refused both to preserve world peace. He was thinking in terms of punishing aggressors. The US went along with him when he wanted total victory. There would be no North Korea had he succeeded.
