Wife stabbed 112 times over affair

AN IMPOTENT husband who encouraged his wife to sleep with other men stabbed her to death when she told him that she was leaving for a lover 30 years her junior.

Christopher Willsher, 53, lost control and attacked his wife, Jeanette, with a kitchen knife, stabbing her 112 times. Willsher was sentenced yesterday to six years imprisonment after a judge at Plymouth Crown Court accepted his plea of guilty to manslaughter on the ground of diminished responsibility.

The court was told that Willsher had entered into the unconventional arrangement with his 48-year-old wife after diabetes, chronic alcohol abuse and heart problems prevented him having sex.

Over two years the Willshers “picked up” at least 14 men for sex. But when Mrs Willsher fell for one of the youngest of her lovers and told her husband that she was leaving, he could not stand the situation any longer. Mr Justice Owen, the judge, said that difficulties arose when Willsher’s failing health led to his impotence.

He said: “As a result, in a desperate bid to keep your wife, you tolerated what many would find intolerable.”

Willsher had told the court that his wife was “the only true love I have ever known” and he could not bear the thought of her leaving him.

The judge said: “He lost by his own hand the one person he loved.” The Willshers lived in a modern end-of-terrace house in the Ham district of Plymouth. They married in 1982 and ran a carpet-cleaning company together. The couple have a son, also called Chris, who is 21.

Mrs Willsher complained that her husband had a controlling personality and she felt like a prisoner in his home.

As Willsher’s physical health deteriorated, so did his mental state. He became depressed and suffered from rages and mood swings. He drank heavily and smoked cannabis.

After the killing of his lover in November last year, Sean Beaver, 18, told how he heard through a friend of Mrs Willsher’s appetite for young men.

They began an affair. Most of Mrs Willsher’s liaisons were one-night stands, but her affair with Mr Beaver developed into a relationship. Mr Beaver said: “Chris was getting a bit jealous. They used to have arguments all the time because of me.” On the day that Mrs Willsher was killed, Mr Beaver had asked her to move in with him.

The Willshers’ final confrontation took place in the hall of their home. Mr Willsher begged his wife not to leave then killed her. Their son witnessed the attack. Anthony Smith, QC, defending, said that the marriage had been happy until impotence struck. Mr Smith said: “He loved her and was besotted. What he did he did because he wanted to keep his wife.”

112 times.

112.

14 different guys in 2 years. That seems like quite a lot, but if you are getting absolutely none at home..... man, what a stupid crazy fuck. His kid watched it happen? Fuck, why didn't he do something after i dunno..... the first 60 STABS!?

“Mrs Willsher complained that her husband had a controlling personality and she felt like a prisoner in his home.”

Oh, nonsense! Purely paranoia on your part, my dear.

:(

I doubt that anyone involved would qualify for sainthood but I certainly wouldn't call killing her “understandable.” Good heavens, what a sad little story.

What the hell? This guy's never heard of viagra? What about the pump?

:lol

I bet they told him in jail...... he would have been like "oh I didn't know, I could have satisfied the love of my life instead of stabbing her a ridiculous amount of times"

Mr. Beaver? *shakes head*

It was understandable in that I can understand how he could get so angry and be so possessive that he'd kill her before he'd let her leave. This is in no way suggesting that it was justified or anything else, just that I understand a little what he must have thought and what prompted him to action. I can't understand 112 times, though. I can't understand 10, actually.

I'm just wondering if he actually counted...or maybe that's what the autopsy revealed. Imagine being the guy who counted them.

112...113...114, wait, didn't I just count that already? DAMNIT gotta start all over!

"I ain't sayin' he should've killed her... but I understand!"

No, there's a subtle difference between that quote and what I was saying. That quote implies the person making it would possibly do the same thing in that situation (or, at the very least, he isn't strongly condemning the action). I understand a little of the mindset he was in when he did it but I couldn't be put in a situation (that doesn't involve self-defense) that would make me stab someone once, let alone 112 times.

Good quote, though. I had to look it up. ...(edited) I'm obviously tired...

I'd never let that happen.

I'd at least take Viagra or the new form of Viagra that's got emotional stimulus. Grr. Poor family. I'd probably do the same thing in a heat of rage. Noone gets at my piece but me.

How THE HELL can you stab someone 112 times?

"Hmm...oh I missed a spot!" *STAB*
:lol :lol

Anyway. That's pretty fucked up. And people, he got only six years because of diminished responsibility. That means you're too fucking insane and more years wouldn't help anything. I wonder if it actually means he'll be a free man in six years time...

Only 6 years? What is the rationale for that? Especially when the husband is the one who started the ball rolling on her hooking up with other men.

Maybe she didn't die after 111 stabs???

So let me get this straight, he "encouraged" her to have sex with other men but got pissed when she took the relationship further?

Damn women, why couldn't she just be happy having sex with other men? I mean how many 48 y.o. women get to have sex with young men with their husband's encouragements, she had to screw it up and fall in love with an 18 y.o. boy...

And the poor son, his father kills his mother in front of him, and the whole world finds out his mum fucked other men with his dad's encouragement!!!

Does 112 stabs make much of a difference than 5? It ended in the same way. And I can understand his passion. He tried to open up the relationship but she got greedy. You can't just fuck with peoples emotions. If you sleep around or toy with your better half's emotions, be ready to die. Some people just can't take it.

Agreed. Some people don't take being hurt like that too well, namely a mentally ill person who is that inlove and willing to allow his wife to fulfill her other needs elsewhere because of how much he loves her.

Killing a person he loves so much is definitely excessive, but he is human and does have feelings and being mentally unstable, i can easily see how he'd overreact and want to kill her.

112 stabbings is overkill(no pun intended). Seems to me like he not only killed her, but he enjoyed doing so.... i think he should be thrown into a mental institution. I can sympanthise for how he would of been driven to what he did, but if he can be driven to that sort of point he shouldn't be allowed to be a free man. Im sure she had no intentions of it happening that way and she was just murdered for falling inlove which can't really be helped.

He will probably not make it out of jail alive tho.

Er, nothing I suppose, as I just noticed that this took place in Britain and not the US.

Nevermind. :lol
